SD is he afraid to move on?
If SD wants to become a top manager this is the time to move on, the opportunity might never come again, or will his innate conservatism mean he sticks to what he knows.
If he's never prepared to take a gamble and find out if he can manage a top side then he'll for ever remain a good manager not a great one.
As with Keane his time has come to test himself.

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
It's a real quandary.
Imagine never moving on, spending day after day doing the same thing, never progressing, never challenging yourself. Just regurgitating the day before and the day before that and the day before that. Never moving on.
Imagine that abc, can you just imagine that?

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
Dyche knows that to leave Burnley now will relegate us and unravel a lot he has achieved, not least because his whole back room team would go with him. He would also be leaving a squad he has personally invested so much in and would be heartbroken.
I hope and believe he will only leave between seasons which would give the club and himself more time to be successful after his departure.

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
Just what is the benchmark for being a 'Top Manager'?
Winning the Premier League?
Winning the FA or League Cup?
Winning the Champions League?
Winning a European League of good standing (Italy, Germany or Spain)?
Winning the World Cup or Euro Championship?
He was sacked by Watford for delivering a finishing position above what they had achieved in recent times.
What will Everton or Leicester demand?
He is aware of the pitfalls of trying to achieve unreasonable targets for impatient owners, would he risk it again and potentially end up labelled as another (albeit richer) failure?

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
An utterly ridiculous post by an attention seeking individual who knows absolutely nothing about Sean dyche ,his aspirations, his long term goals, his commitments, his family circumstances,.what right have you to advise someone like Sean ? What do you actually know about football or ambition.? Sean is already very successful wealthy and admired. He has nothing to prove and certainly not to the likes of you!!

He's only 45 years old with plenty of time on his side.
Unless you've come through the ranks at Barcelona like Guidiola then not many young managers get the top jobs.

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
We all have aspirations and many of us have the difficult task of weighing up the pro's and con's of new opportunities as and when they present themselves.
There is always some trepidation about changing job, as no two jobs are ever the same. Aspects that Sean enjoy's at Burnley may not be on offer elsewhere.
I'm sure we've all had the chance to move onto a better paid jobs in the past, but if all the other pieces don't quite fit then the money alone rarely compensates for that.

I'd be the last person to argue if Sean came to my work and announced he was running the show.
in fact he's probably return the company to profitability!

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
if a foreign manager comes to manage in the prem, they often come with a 2 or 3 year timescale in mind. They often plan to do a good , usually expensive job, to improve their CV and off they pop to the continent. English managers tend to take a long term view and they often want to build a club from the bottom to top and create legacy, often having being aware of the particular traditions and history of the club. Even having previous links with the club. Koemann will probably have a number of offers from various clubs in various countries. Despite his tenure at Goodison being unsuccessful.
Sean Dyche has to consider that if it doesnt go well at Everton. He wont be given much loyalty by an Everton board, compared to ours. But more importantly he wont have the option of going abroad........

Dyche is trying to pimp himself out but nobody will take him, being linked in the media to every job yet is offered no job.

Re: SD is he afraid to move on?
SD isn't afraid he is pragmatic. Any offer on the table has to be right before he'll consider it. That means remuneration, objectives & goals, responsibilities, control & trust. If one of these factors doesn't meet the criteria Sean has for him to consider a new job, then why leave the job he currently has & is happy in?

"the time to move on, the opportunity might never come again,"
- do you ever read back your own posts a blue? Football management has a huge turnover of jobs especially in the prem. and this board is always flooded with posts about SD taking one.
If another opportunity doesn't occur in the next 8 months I'll come on here and hail you as an astute commentator rather than someone who has a compulsion to post drivel on here at every opportunity.

I don't doubt he's preparing the team, every interview just seems like a ''come and get me'' which is completely fine but i'd rather he came out publicly and said he was interested when asked. He has been unequivocally consistent from day one about his future at the club and not changed that at any point since then. So are you suggesting he has been giving "come and get me" messages throughout the last 5 years?KRBFC wrote:I don't doubt he's preparing the team, every interview just seems like a ''come and get me'' which is completely fine but i'd rather he came out publicly and said he was interested when asked. No but its certainly never black or white with him, fans wouldn't begrudge him a move to Everton so whats with all the fence sitting and trying to say the right thing.taio wrote:He has been unequivocally consistent from day one about his future at the club and not changed that at any point since then.
