Doesn't seem like much chance of a rest between PL weekend and the start of the World cup.

And a shorter summer break to the following season.

As long as both still impact us, that’s what matters.

It should benefit us, if we are still in the Premier League next season that is.

Nice break in the middle of the season for the majority of our players unlike most other teams.

Being so early it falls into the first couple of weeks of school holidays so I imagine quite a few people missing the August games

I'd have thought the summer breaks would be longer than usual, not shorter. Normally a World Cup extends the season from mid/late May to mid July. This season is complete between August and May as normal, perhaps just a week or two longer at both ends.

For comparison, 2017-18 started in the PL on 11th August and ended on 13th May, with the World Cup Final on 15th July. The PL season in 2022-23 starts 5 days earlier and ends 15 days later, but then there are 47 extra days off that were used for the World Cup in 2018.

The four week training camps before the world cup has gone. Good.

Having got my first season ticket in the sixties, thought next season would be my first one as an old codger. As my 65th birthday is 8th august i thought that would be the case, but alas the season kicks off on the 6th.Never mind have to wait another year!

The championship usually starts a few weeks before the premier league, so will that be starting in July?

Unless our first fixture is against Man Utd. They’ll want the game postponed due their players having been in the World Cup, and needing to rest. ;)

Over 100 years of tradition thrown under a bus, and all for a tarnished tournament that was sold to the highest bidder.

Will there still be international weekends every 3 months between August & November?? I’d probably take a clean run and a longer break over the constant disruption to the season we have at the moment!

We should have nothing to do with it. It's a grubby tournament bought with Swiss bank accounts.
