Re: U18’s Stoke v Burnley
That's some start for the new bunch.
A pair of headers for young Rooney.
Team here if anyone's interested.
Waller, Connolly, Armstrong, Moonan, Rooney (c), Sassi, Hugill, Woods, McGlynn, Ratchford, Unwin.
Subs: Carson, Brennan, Walters, Mellon, Smyth-Ferguson.

Is that his name, Young Rooney, or is it just like when Michael Owen was called young Michael Owen?

Many thanks for all the news. The lad Joe McGlynn is a name who stood out last year. Great to see him scoring.

Under 23s 2-2 at half time. Richardson and Thompson put us 2-1 up before they equalised.

Re: U18’s Stoke v Burnley
Does anyone know how strong or weak the Stoke U18s and Wolves U23s were last season.
One swallow doesn't make summer, but its hard to measure how strong we are moving up to a higher level.
Positive start from both, so pleasing to see that the youth system appears to have come a long way, in a very short space of time.

Great to see Richardson back on the scoresheet, and Thompson bagging as well, they're acquitting themselves adequately at the higher level thus far.

Great start to life at PL level, I'm sure somebody stated we'd get hammered every week moving up to this standard, well that's clearly not the case today.

Stoke had a good season, 5th but close to 2nd in a league won by Citeh by a distance.

If we do manage to bring in a few new signing i wonder whether either of these two will be making the first team bench still? They seem to be highly rated

No disgrace in that, we've shown that we're more than capable of competing against better quality, and we don't look out of place.

We shouldn’t look out of place. We are an established Premier League team

Well that was a quick biteClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 2:22 pmTotally irrelevant that we an established Premier League team. This is about the academy and the quality of the players we can bring in.

Re: U18’s Stoke v Burnley
Good news. Hopefully we can keep it up. I was certainly not expecting us to compete like we did in the opening fixtures. Let's hope it continues because development will be a lot better if we can get some good results throughout the year!
