Fair point.
It does present a fantastic opportunity for the winner of tomorrow's game though.

I've no real feeling of ill will towards Mbappe, he's only a blue bandana away from being Leonardo after all, but it's always good when a young pretender gets brought down to earth somewhat.

Passion over ability?
I wish we can show the same effort tomorrow as shown by Switzerland and Croatia tonight.

Well done the Swiss, they showed incredible spirit even at 3-1 behind, and they probably deserved that victory over the 120 minutes.

Great news for England and all the other teams remaining, and it's blown the whole thing wide open now, anyone will feel they're in with a shout and they are judging by the last couple of days.

I do have a £1 bet on Switzerland to win the Euros at 66-1 , made before the tournament started.

100%. Especially the games in Copenhagen. Budapest. And tonight Bucharest. Exactly what we have missed. And what the games about. And even better to have those performances.

Can’t wait for this to resume proper. How we’ve missed it. Nothing else I can think of can give you that emotional rollercoaster. Tonight Rodriguez misses that pen. Four minutes later France have scored two to go on top. What a sport.

Unbelievable games and atmosphere today. I would take going 1-0 up early and sitting back for 90 minutes at 5pm tomorrow though!

I'll take a win in any manner, but having to hold onto a narrow advantage for most of the game would leave me with no fingernails.

As for the OP, if there's been a better day of EC footy then it must have been some day of action to better that pair of matches today.

Blimey, what a night.

Let's hope the England v Germany game doesn't put a dampener on a tournament that has sparked into life.

The Sweden Ukraine match should be an interesting one, too.

It is interesting - and we, as Clarets, know all about this - how a well-disciplined, well-organised and so-called relatively "untalented" side can set about the big teams and cause them massive problems even at the highest of levels. Excellent teamwork, excellent coaching.

Let's take the game to Germany. Would love to see Southgate being positive with his substitutions and make the German manager have to work hard with his tactics and formations.
Whatever happens it would be great to feel proud at the end of the game. No tears 😭

Why take 2 touches when having a free kick in the position?
Gives the defending team all the opportunity to rush out and block it (not that I’m complaining)

Just thinking that myself - attack into defence in one easy move !!!

The movement up front is pretty poor so far.
