Is it not nice to get paid handsomely whilst waiting for something else to drop ? is it not family security to be in a job whilst looking for another one especially if its in the same industry ? he might also look at some managers currently "stuck on the shelf" like a Howe, like a Wilder and think another job if I walk is not 100% guaranteed ?
He's not short of cash, and he is ambitious

There is bound to be a bigger club than us sacking its manager this season, and with only less than a year left, he's a lot cheaper than he would be with a new contract.

I'm amazed no one else has taken a punt on him so far to be honest, and that can't continue surely?

I just don't see another PL club wanting Dyche, The Allardyce Pulis Megson Hodgson Dyches are a dying breed, clubs would rather take a chance on a complete unknown like Vieira in hope of more entertainment.

Three points on Saturday will lift the gloom.
Still plenty of August left for incomings.
Do you honestly think that’s going to happen? The last several years worth of transfer windows indicates it’s extremely unlikely.

I’d love to be wrong, but I’m resigned to us starting the season as we are, possibly plus Lennon.

Interesting one as I reckon Dyche with the level of spending Viera has had so far at Palace would put Palace in the top half and probably us too.

Allerdyce did a great job at smaller less fancied clubs, but the style of football and tag sticks with a manager.

Many fans of other clubs think Dyvhe is a constant moaner, who is a dinosaur with his long ball tactics and kick the opposition type football.

Yes there's other managers who have achieved less on more money, but their reputation is deemed better/higher because of the brand of football they play, and not necessarily the trippy happy play out from the back, but also the approach to games.
We set up with a very rigid defensive base keeping it tight hoping to nick a goal.
Many of our own fans are crying out for some entertainment, so you can bet your ladt £1 that owners and fans of other clubs would expect similar.

Dyche is fantastic for us, and does/achieves what we need and that's survival at any cost.

For that he gets total control, and afforded lots if time when things are in the slide results and performance wise, I'm not sure he can or would get that elsewhere.

I just think Dyche and Burnley are a perfect match.

Possibly, other fans wouldn't want him and would hate his style of play. Snobbery maybe, but even higher up the level is Mourinho and Benitez who have won European trophies, Mourinho is going lower and lower and Benitez managed Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea and was previously working in China and at Newcastle. Unfashionable managers just aren't wanted, I don't think Nunos teams play brilliant football but he's at least got to a European Quarter final, played a more up to date system (352/343 is considerably more fashionable than 442), shown capable of a cup run and has shown to have very good recruitment with different contacts worldwide.

I don't think anyone thinks Dyche plays the way KRBFC describes by choice. Other fans might see a totally different approach if he was in charge of other teams. He has to operate a particular way with his limited resources.

I think Dyche has shown his sides are capable of playing good football throughout his time here. For example when we had Defour and we played it through the middle a lot more. All the meanwhile he’s been very limited here with the players and lack of technical ability (compared to the rest of the league). With money to bring in those caliber of player I’d expect the football wouldn’t be like some of the dire stuff we occasionally see.

As to who comes in for him next, another solid season for us and possibly someone like Villa, or Newcastle if/when Bruce goes.

Those are the players he recruited and coached.

Compare with the rest of the league, sure but we weren't exactly Brazil in the Championship either when we were one of the biggest spenders.

You can say lack of funds, but it's been proven by managers like Bielsa, you don't need to spend an awful lot to play good football. Cooper Ayling Dallas Harrison Bamford Phillips Klich Roberts, how much did these lot cost? The only real expensive players were Rodrigo and Raphina and Rodrigo is a backup.

Think you are doing a disservice to SD here

First promotion from the champ?

One of the best footballing teams

He always said that he's pragmatic with what he's got, and with a bigger budget and better players, I think he would shine

But hopefully we find that out here!

The early capture of Collins gives me hope.
We "look" active, and are likely to leave until the last day or so.

If you're gonna trot out a claim they've got no money, don't get upset when you're asked to support that claim.
It's quite simple to understand.

Leeds net spend for the last 5 seasons before this window was £83 million and they spent 4 of those in the championship.

They had losses of £62 million in the 19/20 season, due to the added month for a extended season or it would've been £45 million.

Only once in the last 8 seasons have they made money, £1 million in 16/17.

Credit where it's due though, they increased their revenue streams massively... commercial went from £11 million to £34 Million.

Point being, they've spent a lot of money over the years, don't be fooled into thinking they haven't.

Nope, but the onus is on the person making the original claim.

I'm not saying either way, because I'm more patient than most and will wait until the accounts are released next year, it's what I do every year tbh.

When managerial vacancies came up at Everton and Tottenham Dyche was priced up at between 40/1 and 50/1 even after numerous other candidates fell by the wayside.

Were all of the Palace signings beyond our financial reach Conor Gallagher (loan) or Michael Olise (£8.37m)?

Or perhaps these players just fancied coming and playing for Viera.

Given our loan record from Chelsea ranges from never made the team to never made the team (and cried about it) to never made the team (and had his knee kicked off) I think Gallagher was probably beyond our reach tbf

Not exactly our loan record from Chelsea rather Dyche's loan record. Therefore highly unlikely if Dyche HAD gone to Palace that Chelsea would have been loaning them Gallagher or anybody else for that matter.

You may well be right, but I find it difficult to believe that in days when statistics are used to the nth degree to analyse player performance, the people that choose managers wouldn't be able to see through a lot of that. Far from being a "dinosaur", he - like Alardyce - is actually a very forward-thinking manager, and the style of play is very obviously a function of the resources he has available. As for "kick the opposition", that doesn't bear even casual scrutiny of fouls conceded, booking stats and the fact that we're a couple of games away from breaking the PL record for games without a red card!

Still, their loss is our gain - long may it continue.

Well! it's a rumour at least, however do we really need another RB given we currently have Bardsley & Lowton on our books.

Mind you I did notice he can also play RM, so he might be a relatively cheap solution to our right wing conundrum.

Ticks a lot of boxes, only 28, PL experience, and in the last year of his contract, wages should be viable, and lastly fairly local, so I can see why we'd' be interested, and we could do a lot worse than him that's for sure.

I'm only arsed about the club's money, that's why I asked the other poster for the ALK accounts seeing as they've made the claim the owners are skint.

Still waiting for those btw but I suspect they won't have them and they're just making false claims for dramatic effect.

I just don't see another PL club wanting Dyche, The Allardyce Pulis Megson Hodgson Dyches are a dying breed, clubs would rather take a chance on a complete unknown like Vieira in hope of more entertainment.
Total lack of respect for our manager. Whenever people within the game talk about him they talk him up and what a great job he is doing.

I'm only arsed about the club's money, that's why I asked the other poster for the ALK accounts seeing as they've made the claim the owners are skint.

Still waiting for those btw but I suspect they won't have them and they're just making false claims for dramatic effect.
Or you could just use a bit of common sense 🤷‍♂️

Latest on Cornet (Tuttomercatoweb)

“ Inter Milan would be interested in Maxwel Cornet to strengthen his left lane. The Italian club will face competition from Burnley and Hertha Berlin.

On the start this summer, Maxwel Cornet has no shortage of suitors. After Burnley and Hertha Berlin, Inter Milan would also target the side of Olympique Lyonnais, according to information from the Italian site Tuttomercatoweb. The interior leaders have already contacted the entourage of the Ivorian, and could take action in the event of the departure of one of his players in the left lane.”

Fortunately they drive on the right in Europe so we're definitely in for him.

If Inter are keen then we’ve no chance.

We have no chance anyway, he isn't a defender.

We have Lowton, Bardsley and Collins (who played RB for Stoke) as right backs. This doesn't seem the wisest way of spending money unless he plays wide midfield as well. I know hes a grafter

If (insert team) are interested, we’ve got no chance.

Feel free to use the above template to save time moving forward.
