You're quoting his release clause, which they will never get.
Which is what's being reported, why would they sell for £12m considering...
He's got 4 and a half years left on his deal.
Recently capped for Spain.
Was signed for £17m a year and a half ago (before being capped for Spain and bagging 12 in 21 this season.
Where have you plucked £12m from?

But it would have to be a serious amount of money to get him surely?
You can’t be in a relegation battle in January and sell your top strik ohhhhh wait a minute

Newcastle seemingly asking about Webster from Brighton, maybe Tarks has said no
Went and saw Brighton v Leicester on Sunday. No way will Brighton let Webster go. Him and Byrne are quite a partnership and currently keeping Dunk out

tbf in the current climate, some clubs are skint so a fee shy of a release clause may still tempt some clubs

Someone I’m surprised we are not looking at is Morelos at Rangers. Rumoured fee of 13-15m required so possibly a bit high for us? And maybe doesnt want a move from Rangers to Burnley… but reckon he’d be ideal for a Dyche side from what I’ve seen.

£40m+ shy?
On a player who's stock is sky high and has 4 and a half years left on his deal?

Amazing how many folks don't pay attention to transfer windows, virtually nothing ever happens until the last week especially in January

This “he is too good for us” gets a bit irritating, simply because it isn’t true.
If Watford can get Dennis, Norwich can get Pukki, Palace can get Zaha and Brentford can get Eriksen it is normal for us to get players like Cornet and this new lad if he signs. We are a top team while we are in the PL, no smaller than those clubs, a big attraction, one suspects we have just got into the habit of scouring the GB&I pool by prioritising attitude and fitting into the group. But there is more than one way to skin a cat so to speak.

Rumours that Newcastle have failed in their pursuit Diego Carlos.
Sevilla holding out for €70M apparently.
Wonder if they’ll revert back to Tarkowski?

Not in a million years should we sign this nut job. Scoring in Scotland is a damn site easier than in the PL and we have our red card record to honour.

It really wouldn’t surprise me.
They are desperate for defensive reinforcements, and this is only going to increase in the coming days.
The real concern will be having enough time ourselves to replace Tarks should he go.

Definitely a modern phenomenon that the word of respected journalists is checked out with a couple of social media personalities.
It won’t be long before official club announcements are verified with Nixon & Romano.

We need to keep them hanging in for Tarks and at the last moment (when its too late to sign anyone) pull the plug. That would damage them

All the info is in the last two pages of this thread.
I know 99% of it is posters wishlists and fantasy values of players, but there are two or three articles saying that we've agreed a fee of around £7 million
Not guaranteed from there but I'd say we've got a very good chance now as personal terms will not be a problem

Palace looking into getting Van de Beek on loan from United. Be a good signing for us if we could make it happen. He wouldn’t even have to move to home

The story of our interest broke over a week ago, so you would assume if any other clubs were going to gazump us they would have moved by now.

You'd think so, but I suspect clubs that are desperate and deals at this stage can fall through
I hope that he wants to come, but there is no guarantees

If Van De Beek is interesting Palace on loan you would hope we would be in there too despite the wages, could make a big impact.
I assume Ramsey is dead in the water?

Good to see some positivity. Nothing signed, sealed or delivered, but it has certainly provided me a little cheer. Almost as much as the dogged performance witnessed on Sunday.
