P!ss off. Mr Pace is doing all he can to get people in, it's not his fault if they change their minds and stay put. I am convinced we are going down this season, but I am happy with the effort he seems to be putting in. Players like Origi and Ramsey are players that would NEVER have been linked with us previously. Too many things come into play these days, WAGs, threat of relegation, location, pay, bonuses and (perceived) career progression can all scupper a deal. Also, we are not a big club so it's even harder to get people through the door. I have faith that Mr Pace will do what's best for us, even if we go down, so cut him some slack. He is trying to catch up on the years of underinvestment and, IMO, he's doing a good job.

Or perhaps he has high hopes for the Clarets!!!claretburns wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:15 pmSearching his name earlier for an update I came across an article from last May when he was linked with West Ham for £27 million. I think we've hit the "does anyone have any clients in need of a move" email stage of the transfer window.

Ah the old Dan Gosling smokescreen - everyone looks over here at the rumour while Fofana Lingard Seferovic Lovric and Ramsey sneak in a side door for their medicals

Has to be a wind up (Gosling). I thought Pace wanted to sign younger players with potential sell on value ? Although the Dutch lad, at 30 this year, doesn’t exactly fit that profile.

I don’t think anyone would disagree that not bringing anyone in is a failure, of course it is. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s anybody’s fault or through lack of trying though does itMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:19 pmI know Newcastleclaret rubs some people up the wrong way on here but he’s not wide of the mark at all this evening.

From Barkley to Fofana to Ramsey to Gosling. Burnley.

Possibly, although thankfully Boden has just rubbished the John Eustace rumour.

Guarantee that Nixon reads this board, and he's got a bet on that by throwing a player that is underwhelming on he can get it to 120 pages by midnight tonight

Not a bad addition if fit.
Not exactly a marquee signing, but solid enough...dont think he's had much of a sniff at Watford so plenty to prove.
Goals in him too.

24 hours left so let's see if we end the window in a better spot on the pitchClaretAL wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 6:09 pmIs it lack of investment? Deal was done with the club a player but before the medical could happen to sign on the dotted line he decided not to. Pace travelled out to try and convince him. I'm nit sure what more we can do. As fir attracting players, we are in let's say a precarious position to do that, hence not a queue of agents trying offload players on to us. I 100% believe the club are doing all they can

I'll wait until I get a name, been seen at Gawthorpe or got info from a players mare
Don't like nagging for 3rd hand info.

Someone needs to take that 2017 transfer list off Dyche. Jesus Christ it’s 2022. Dale Stephens was meant to be the warning

Im sure the club are indeed doing all they can but if the window closes with only the one signing they will have failed and im afraid whist everyone try's there best as owner, chairman, recruitment team or whoever has played a role then there needs to be accountability.
Im sure Benitez or Farke tried their best at Everton and Norwich but that does not mean they did not fail and shouldn't be accountable for blame of their situation.
An awful lot can happen in the last 24 hours of a transfer window so hopefully we can pull off one or even two more signings that can go straight into the first 11 but if it ends up just Weghorst then Mr Pace and his team have failed to deliver what was required in the fight to stay up

Another 30+ to add to the rest, you have to ask the

This smacks of a Dyche signing TBH.
I'll reverse judgement for now, but if he's the answer to midfield woes then I despair.

Dan Gosling
Or Dale Stephens
Which would be the most ridiculously terrible transfer window signing we have pulled off in recent years?
I wish this forum had a poll option sometimes.

Me too, I’d be very happy to see Hendrick back. I can’t see much chance of Newcastle helping us there though.
I have never rated Gosling and he’s 32 in a few days time. The fact he’s not getting a kick at a terrible Watford side should tell us everything we need to know. Please no Burnley, look elsewhere. Push the boat out on a top tier loan.

Ordinarily I would say no way, are you mad, he is a million miles away from what we need....... and then I think back
Summer 19/20 Transfer Window
Danny Drinkwater
Summer 20/21 Transfer Window
Dale Stephens
Summer 21/22 Transfer Window
No Central or Defensive Midfielder
Winter 21/22 Transfer Window
Dan Gosling
Danny Drinkwater > Dale Stephens > Dan Gosling
Sadly, it seems believable

Would take Hendrick over Gosling any day of the week, especially if its just a loan, seems a no brainer
