You honestly think we’d do well in the championship playing this type of football? We’d do well to stay in that league.

Re: Sack Dyche now
Sean Dyche may well be able to get a team promoted next season, but it won’t be this team as it currently stands. There’s no way this current Burnley team are up to the rigours of a 46 game Championship season.
Thank God so many are out of contract and we can put them out to pasture.

Re: Sack Dyche now
If we are going to let him go, then now is the time to do it but it would need a lot of bravery and I'm not even sure we are in the position to do it with the deal SD is on!
Re: Sack Dyche now
I think of he wasn't on a massive contract he would be sacked. I have list faith. Needs a new voice and fresh approach. Thanks for everything Sean .

We have gone backwards since Tony Laughlin departed. Was he the brains behind our success?

Fair play for the loyalty CT but something needs to change, you can't keep putting blind faith into a man who hasn't delivered for well over a year now. Its only going to end in one result.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:11 pmYou just know there will be a thread like this when the result is disappointing and you just know who will be posting on it.

I dearly hope that's the case, as far too many are past their prime, and yes that holds true even if we're playing in the Championship.BurnleyFC wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:24 pmSean Dyche may well be able to get a team promoted next season, but it won’t be this team as it currently stands. Re: Sack Dyche now
I can't see a time when we will be able to buy success, so we really need to be much smarter in player development and selling for top money.
Not necessarily SD's fault that we haven't done this, but our strategy as a club has to change.

No point sacking Dyche , but for someone on 3.5m I'd expect him to try something different instead of 4-4-2 every week .

Re: Sack Dyche now
Trying to be objective about tonight. If you listened to Crouch and Keone tonight-you could tell Crouch still has a soft spot for us, however Keone summarised our performance accurately. We have a total lack of quality, particularly in the final third. There is no build up play, creativity, a lack of quality balls coming in from the wings, and totally disjointed as a team

Re: Sack Dyche now
Something I forewarned everybody about at the time feel free to look at the Sean dyche contract thread, I’m not giving it mystic billy big bo**ocks but I could see what was going to happen with struggling this season & some sections wanting to get shut.tiger76 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:16 pmFor once you offer a sensible argument Jakub, even if we did pot Sean, which given that'll probably cost £10m or so, then any incoming manager will still face the same issues in the market that SD has for years, now it is possible that that person could do a better job, but it would be an expensive gamble, especially given Dyche's record in the Champ.
However eventually there will be a tipping point for some fans, and that point must be coming closer by the week.
The whole club just seems jaded, and as great as Sean has been you do wonder precisely how much patience ALK will show if results don't drastically improve.
That new 4 year contract is looking a big mistake now, as it makes sacking the manager all the harder.

Midfield in general has always been an issue with SD. He has signed a few decent players there but I still remember how slow he was to replace Marney when he had the big injury which cost us dearly due to SD being so slow on the uptake!Get some goddamn energy into the team and the midfield in particular.

I’m not sure what people were expecting. With the current players we have and that we’re available what could he have changed, system wise?

3 5 2
Roberts Taylor Wing backs.
Mcneil Westwood Brownhill
Cornet Weghorst
Would it work? No idea. Would it better us? No idea. Should we be trying something different? Most definitely.

Just wind-up merchants.
He has worked miracles with minimal investment. Pace appears to be trying to invest. We had a gpod window in summer and not a bad window just gone. We need level heads and strong hearts. Watford have been good at sacking people yet couldn't beat us.

Dyche post match: “It is another clean sheet & a chance to build. There wasn't much in it.
“We were pleased with the mentality, we kept going. Both teams tried to play in these conditions and this is probably as bad as I've seen it!
Sorry, but WTF

“We’ve not had a bad window just gone”. Seriously ? In addition, of the players signed in summer only one has featured regularly. We’ve pretty much had the same ageing team for 3-4 years and it’s going to cost us.JimmyRobbo wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 8:42 pmJust wind-up merchants.

Incredibly some are now pinning their hopes on the returning Barnsey because, I assume, he had a good season four years ago (or whatever)

It’s gone so stale. It’s awful to watch. We had the chance to bring players in last month to freshen things up and we didn’t.
We need a complete overhaul in the summer, whichever division we’re in. I’m not sure any overhaul will happen with Dyche still here.

Re: Sack Dyche now
Nobody can argue things have gone very, very stale. I think the whole club needs a shake up. Whether now or the summer is the time to do it who knows? Maybe Sean is in his comfort zone...
Re: Sack Dyche now
With the issues we obviously still have in getting deals over the line, it hardly fills me with confidence imagining Pace bringing in a suitable replacement, were we to sack Dyche.
I’m disappointed with how poor the team has become - it’s stale and I do think that Dyche has to accept some of the responsibility (notwithstanding the problems created by Garlick).
What is obvious is that we need a wholesale clear out of a significant proportion of the squad. Dyche has the credits in the bank to be given the chance to deliver this. I would though be expecting to see far better than we’ve been served up for the past few years - results of course but also performances / style.
Yes, it’s a results business, it’s also an entertainment business and sadly that’s been lacking for too long.
Dyche has next season for me - the target being promotion.

It looks like we are done this season but I’d still want him in charge next season.
Re: Sack Dyche now
Do we think Dyche will have a significant wage cut for taking us down? I mean, anything over 25k a week on a manager in the Champ is a lot, let alone his 100k.

Re: Sack Dyche now
with our budget he perhaps should have sold some players at the top of their value in order to create a transfer kitty.
IMO he has to shoulder some responsibility for our lack of transfer activity, both out and in.
Re: Sack Dyche now
I don’t disagree with that - I’m not convinced he’s shown much flexibility in that respect. He’s certainly not the wheeler dealer type.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:06 pmwith our budget he perhaps should have sold some players at the top of their value in order to create a transfer kitty.

Re: Sack Dyche now
Plus how many players will have turned us down due to style of play. Happened with Christie from Celtic in the summer who chose the Championship over us. Why would a creative, attacking player come when all their flair gets sucked out of them.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sat Feb 05, 2022 9:06 pmwith our budget he perhaps should have sold some players at the top of their value in order to create a transfer kitty.
