I dearly hope that's the case, as far too many are past their prime, and yes that holds true even if we're playing in the Championship.

I can't see a time when we will be able to buy success, so we really need to be much smarter in player development and selling for top money.
Not necessarily SD's fault that we haven't done this, but our strategy as a club has to change.

Trying to be objective about tonight. If you listened to Crouch and Keone tonight-you could tell Crouch still has a soft spot for us, however Keone summarised our performance accurately. We have a total lack of quality, particularly in the final third. There is no build up play, creativity, a lack of quality balls coming in from the wings, and totally disjointed as a team

For once you offer a sensible argument Jakub, even if we did pot Sean, which given that'll probably cost £10m or so, then any incoming manager will still face the same issues in the market that SD has for years, now it is possible that that person could do a better job, but it would be an expensive gamble, especially given Dyche's record in the Champ.

However eventually there will be a tipping point for some fans, and that point must be coming closer by the week.

The whole club just seems jaded, and as great as Sean has been you do wonder precisely how much patience ALK will show if results don't drastically improve.

That new 4 year contract is looking a big mistake now, as it makes sacking the manager all the harder.

Midfield in general has always been an issue with SD. He has signed a few decent players there but I still remember how slow he was to replace Marney when he had the big injury which cost us dearly due to SD being so slow on the uptake!

“We’ve not had a bad window just gone”. Seriously ? In addition, of the players signed in summer only one has featured regularly. We’ve pretty much had the same ageing team for 3-4 years and it’s going to cost us.
Incredibly some are now pinning their hopes on the returning Barnsey because, I assume, he had a good season four years ago (or whatever)

With the issues we obviously still have in getting deals over the line, it hardly fills me with confidence imagining Pace bringing in a suitable replacement, were we to sack Dyche.

I’m disappointed with how poor the team has become - it’s stale and I do think that Dyche has to accept some of the responsibility (notwithstanding the problems created by Garlick).

What is obvious is that we need a wholesale clear out of a significant proportion of the squad. Dyche has the credits in the bank to be given the chance to deliver this. I would though be expecting to see far better than we’ve been served up for the past few years - results of course but also performances / style.

Yes, it’s a results business, it’s also an entertainment business and sadly that’s been lacking for too long.

Dyche has next season for me - the target being promotion.

I don’t disagree with that - I’m not convinced he’s shown much flexibility in that respect. He’s certainly not the wheeler dealer type.

Plus how many players will have turned us down due to style of play. Happened with Christie from Celtic in the summer who chose the Championship over us. Why would a creative, attacking player come when all their flair gets sucked out of them.
