Re: REPORT: Woutstanding
Pleasing to read about a win at long last, and we simply blew them away, 3-0 didn't flatter us, and with some fortune it could have been even more.
Can't fault any of our players for that performance all excellent to a man, but Wout deserves a special mention, bullied their centre backs, and it wasn't a surprise he was involved in all 3 goals.
Another clean sheet won't do us any harm either, and we appear to have found the happy medium between a solid defence but also carrying an attacking threat.
I loved Sean's concise summary at the end of the game "We scored goals" I believe was his precise quote, and if you keep them out at one end and bag them at the other you'll win games, it really is that simple.

A good victory especially away really puts a spring in your step.

The Wood bashing needs to stop, he's gone and he did well for us in general.
Although if we hadn't have pulled Newcastles pants down relegation was almost a guarantee. At least we now have a glimmer of hope

Good report CT, Let's hope it's our Mc Fadden and Whitehead time. Here's to three more against Spurs

One tiny complaint. I thought Collins deserved a mention for the first pass to Lennon before Wouts goal. He also stepped effortlessly into Tarks defensive role to such a degree that Tarks wasn’t missed at all !

Given our remaining fixtures this is entirely possible, and of course we enjoyed more wins on the road (6) than at home (4) last season.summitclaret wrote: ↑Sun Feb 20, 2022 7:53 pmOur away form will be crucial and believe we will have more away wins than at home, built on our legendary strong defence, but now with a goal threat.
Doesn't matter to me where the wins come from as long as they come.

Good report, thank you. I think it is also worth mentioning Graham Potter's post match comments. He also said Dunk and Webster were a big miss but went on to say, Burnley had key players missing as well so we cannot make that an excuse. How refreshing.

A stark contrast to the majority of the other unpleasant characters who happen to be Premier League managers

Getting better headlines by the week eh. And it keeps the numbskulls (not aimed at the author btw.... my last comment was very plural) quiet... until the next draw
Collins was superb
