Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
Re: Interesting Mee part of the temporary set up
Captain and injured, its probably his role to be there and do it.
All the first team staff has been sacked.
Mee has been doing his badges, and probably knows the players the best.
Be interesting to see if anything is different with the set up, tactics, effort and application.

I’m not sure how Garlick could come back after what he did. He has burnt his bridges. If he did, we would surely end up with a chairman who doesn’t want to be here!Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 12:31 pmHope you are feeling better Paul
as for what comes next - one scenario I have is that the previous administration will be back in control by late July, VSL will still have a sizable shareholding just not necessarily enough to be in control - the first trigger for that has already been actioned in the last 10 days or so (and no I cannot relay to you what that is), there is a sequence of other events that have to occur for it to pan out but we are past the starting post.
It comes down to a lack of money (or at least an unwillingness to spend monies that they must surely have accumulated for themselves in their careers) - for now excepting the very strange timing of this announcement, the greatest failing ALK and their friends have made is delivering on the fundamental essential of their plan which is finding additional investors - and that is likely to be down to the fact that the market believes they have overpaid in the first place. The on field struggles since takeover will have not helped to change that view

Well if Chester is right Garlick pulled a blinder. Falls out witj Dyche, gets over the odds selling the club to new owners and builds in a trigger to get the club back if the new owners' gamble fails.
Meanwhile new owners try to reshape the style with no money, get us relegated and pot the most popular manager in decades before disappearing back into the wilderness leaving Garlick to rude backninto town and pick up where he left off. Maybe witha tidy profit too!

Re: Interesting Mee part of the temporary set up
Could do worse than make him player coach, and retain him in a new contract and captaincy.Having got rid of 4 coaches he is one of the few internally that can give continuity
Re: Interesting Mee part of the temporary set up
Are you suggesting player revolt?
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
We have been inconsistent and short on ideas for a while, yes. That is why it was puzzling when Pace offered him a new four year deal. Something definitely had to change, but not like this, or now.

What is wrong with some of our fans, they moan and moan about the results, the management team, the tactics and the style of play every week, and then when the owners do something about it, its moan moan moan again.
The owners have seen what we have all seen week in and week out and have realised that it cant go on. Thank you to Sean and his team but its time to move on and try something new. who knows it might fail but it might just be the start of something exciting. Give them a chance and support the team and the club.

I agree, but the first action has been set in motion, it can be stopped, but that is down to VSL - like I say there is a sequence of events to pan out (and they may not) but it is one scenariogandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 12:46 pmI’m not sure how Garlick could come back after what he did. Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
Is there any evidence they have money? A decent spend in the Premiership transfer market requires tens of million every season. Only billionaires can chuck that kind of money around with impunity.Chester Perry wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 12:31 pmHope you are feeling better Paul

I think the problem for ALK is not the market feels they overpaid, albeit they did, but that there is not sufficient capacity for growth to yield a decent return with a heck of a risk to boot.
Poor return and high risk do not make investors happy.
Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
Garlick burnt his bridges here with fans in the process, if ALK take a backseat, the MSD £60m loan doesn't just disappear either. £60m is probably about what Garlick has received so far, so he wouldn't be getting a healthy profit.BabylonClaret wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 12:48 pmWell if Chester is right Garlick pulled a blinder. The previous administration may have the controlling share if events pan out in a very specific way, it does not necessarily mean that they have to be the public face of the club or indeed for it to become all that apparent to fans for some time after

Re: Big news coming soon from the Turf (Sean Dyche sacked)
I am lost with what a crazy stupid decision there has to be something else with it other than performance or results. Admittedly this season has been an absolute cluster from start to the now inevitable relegation at the end but I would not have seen this coming.
I get some performances and a lot of the results haven’t been good enough and when that happens the manager tends to lose his job but why now there is no benefit.
If it is about performance/ results why not immediately after Norwich?
If it is about performance/ results why not after Brentford?
If it is about performance/ results why not before we have him a new 4 year contract as results are no worse than what they were then.
Really strange

You may well be right , nothing is forever as SD often said .It’s the timing I feel is very poor as nobody knows this pile of hasbeens quite like SD and ( imo ) should have been given the chance until we were down /saved .

I've got to say I'm at peace with the decision. Sean has been great for us but for me it was becoming increasingly obvious that his time with us was drawing to a close.
I'd like to thank Sean and all his staff for what they've done and achieved for us and I wish them well moving forward

Re: Remember it's Burnley Fc
Those people do not exist.
There are plenty of people however, who constantly support ALK's decisions and refuse to criticise a single thing they do. Loading us up with debt, neglible investment in transfers even compared to 2019, the entire January window, the shareholder buyout and loan repayment fiascos, now this- even if you think the decision is overall correct the timing is madness- and even the logic of getting someone new in before the end of the season falls short as they sacked him on Friday- 2 days before West Ham, 5 days AFTER Norwich- along with all his staff even Billy Mercer. If this is based on Norwich they've given the temporary staff zero time to prep for West Ham. How can anyone support the timing of this?
But you will, as you'll be sure to find a couple of users constantly singing Pace's praises and defending his every decision.
Nobody here supports Dyche over Burnley. I think this is a disaster but I'm sticking with the club, not following Dyche. Plenty of people back ALK even through decisions which have already been categorically bad for the club and worse than the previous owners- regardless of today's news.
Pace needs to go. I said in January I would give him a chance in the window- his promises didn't materialise. Just like every promise he's made.

We lose…
The best manager that most fans have had in their lifetime.
The manager that has created an ethos and culture that very few managers are capable of doing.
A manager who has lost just ten games in his last ninety-two Championship games.
A manager with several years of contract remaining and therefore a huge cost to pay-off
A manager who put the club’s future ahead of player purchases, by developing Barnfield.
A manager who understood the town and its townsfolk.
A person who promoted our town and club with such positivity.
A person that got us!
We’ve gained…
Thanks Sean. An incredible effort!!!

There is no story about a player revolt.
Just like the same, unsubstantiated claims from a few years ago of a fall out between Mee and Tarky.

Welcome to the internet.
If people can't evidence what they say, they make stuff up. If they can't make up enough stuff, they ask you to make it up for them with inane hypotheticals.

It's a tough one because speculating is always a risk but really the logical thinking is to stick with Sean because he's our best option for getting back out-of the Championship (upwards that is). The evidence all points that way.

No, because they're completely unpredictable. Whereas this is just following a very predictable pattern seen at numerous clubs over the years. I guess Swansea is probably most relevant - if we're being optimistic - or it could be a Wigan/Bolton scenario.
We've just removed the one factor that has set us apart from lower Championship fodder for 9 years and we've got owners with little understanding of our game and have mortgaged us up to the hilt just as we lose 90% of our income.

Can’t help but feel they’ve got someone lined up to take over in time for the Southampton match, just a hunch based on the timing of the sacking.

To be honest it's an unlikely scenario to be conjecturing upon but the MSD loan is lodged against the clubs assets and there will be little broadcasting revenue in the Championship. In the end, I think the money will have to come from the non-broadcasting revenue: us!
Unless, you think MG and co are going to stump up. In which case, fair enough...!

If the board was thinking of sacking Dyche he should have gone after the Brentford bame to give the next man 3 weeks to try and change things about a bit.
To let him go now is a tad strange. David Unsworth has had great plaudits this last year, just given his notice in to move to a push his career on so perhaps he is the man Pace & Co have lined up.
