I would expect so, certainly used to be the difference between being considered a prisoner of war and a non military spy.

The one thing I have taken from the last two days.
Russia has tried new offensives in lots of places.
It gained just about nothing.
At this point, I think the only way Russia gains more ground in Ukraine is if they run out of western arms.

Norway says it’s sent all its surface to air missiles, no more to give.
uk has sent 4000 NLAW. I have read online only 7000 were made. Now I am sure they are flat out making more. But switching on supply chains is difficult, spent most of my life doing just that. It’s not quick process.

Tata Steel is a multinational conglomerate, I don’t think Modi has any influence in how it’s managed.

Former Russian (Former military Kommandant Donesk) he warned Russia, that he expected the war in the East of Ukraine to fail: Russian will lose all territory invaded. Furthermore he expect Ukraine to push into Russian territory. He published an open letter in Russia blasting Putin.

I'm not sure how it works in the 'Rules of War', if there really are any, but it is a well known and perhaps legitimate ruse to dress up in enemy uniforms. I would guess though that you should make your enemy aware of this before opening fire and you should be wearing your own dog tags - do they still have dog tags?

This was generally the practice at sea in WW2 - the German raiders like the Komoran for example. They would raise the German flag before they opened fire.

Yes, but both sides on land in WWII shot soldiers who disguised themselves that way, pretty sure that is what will happen here.

I know the star war project didn't come to fruition, apparently, but it makes sense that the US, and Europe, would have been working on measures designed to counter these weapons. And if they did, they aren't likely to broadcast it if they found a solution.

Quite agree, when the first threat of nuclear attack was muted, Biden could not suppress a grin; he quickly removed it but at the time I thought it was very telling of what we don’t know.

It takes one country to start a war but two to end it. Would England have ceded Kent to Hitler while the USA was still willing and able to send weapons? I’m not making a direct comparison of course on either side of the conflict but after watching the last two months I’m more and more convinced it will take much more then we have seen from Russia so far for the Ukrainians to agree to anything that involves giving up land as long as the west is willing to send support.

But yes, it would cost a lot of Ukrainian lives. But that’s their decision to make not ours.

Absolutely their decision, and the fact that more and more former Russian military commanders are calling for FAR MOVE destruction of infrastructure is as good as sign as any that Russian’s in the know are far less confident of success than their leader.

The breakthrough to Kharkiv by Ukrainian troops was a massive event yesterday, not yet confirmed by news agencies but by internal Ukraine sources, will be a massive blow to Russian aims… all they asked for was ammo and supplies, I expect that is just what they have been getting… along the elite reinforcements. Expect it will be confirmed when the position has stabilised somewhat, probably next week before we hear more on that.

There's absolutely no way Ukraine will concede land, they've taken the heaviest punch from Russia and shook it off already.
