Can’t see Forest sacking Cooper less than halfway into a Premier League season.
With their head case of an owner I certainly can.
If they don’t get out of the blocks well he’ll be a goner. He’s just like any other gung-ho chairman.

Moss to start his new job as manager of Premier League refs tomorrow.
The mind boggles. God help us all.
If at first you don't succeed, get a top job.

Forest will be back in the championship this time next year along with Bournemouth.
That’s what people say about every team promotes from the Championship. You don’t know who they will sign so can’t claim that with any certainty. Can’t imagine many people thought that Brentford would finish 13th.

Can't help but entertain the thought that the game is bent.
I wouldn't go that far, but there's definitely an unconscious bias towards the bigger clubs.

As I said earlier, a good mate of mine is a Forest supporter and he
says that they got away with those two penalty shouts.
Gutted for Huddersfield.
The Toffolo one looked like there was no contact in slow motion. A close one. As the commentator said, if the referee gives it, VAR doesn't overturn it.

It is, I read it earlier this year but can't remember if it has been voted in for next season or the year after.
It's the season after that they are considering introducing VAR light.

I've never before gone down that route of thinking, save for instances like Olympiakos, it's too easy too attribute flashpoints in games to corruption when it could be a sad and simple case of incompetence.....but that penalty denial around 83 minutes is ridiculous. I really hope it's just incompetence.

People said the same about Brentford, the Play Off final is never high quality, just a nervy tight dull affair.

No…that was refereeing error. There was no VAR available. Today, Huddersfield were robbed in plain sight of a nailed on pen.

Had Burnley committed those two fouls Forest committed, I am fairly certain at least one would have been a pen, just as likely both. Quite disgusting for the Huddersfield fans

Read back up Joey. The reply was in relation to the game being bent. My point was that VAR can and probably is being manipulated to meet an agenda in favour of the larger clubs. The fact still remains, VAR wasn’t around then. In my opinion, Dean made an error. I don’t believe he was being ‘bent’

not at all, it was just one decision amongst countless other ones that probably should have gone the other way. Factor in VAR, however, and the whole incompetence issue is not just in the moment. It was that bad a decision that I entertained the thought of corruption. I only entertained it, mind, I wasn't expecting to think like that but I'm being honest. I still err heavily on the side of incompetence but that niggly dark thought crept in as well. Anyway, It's Forest's day, their fans must be in dreamland right now. Good luck to them.

The Premier league agenda was satisfied
Forest are seen as a top league team
The second penalty shout was shear Jonny Moss incompetence
I hope the talk of useless Moss going onto a refs panel was a sick joke.

The second one was nowhere near a penalty. The Huddersfield man stuck his left leg out to the side for the Forest man to run into. If the defender had been in front they would have been shouting for a penalty just the same. It's all covered by the unwritten rule "If a forward touches a defender and flings himself over, then it must be a foul ". Commentators fall for it all the time, and referees fall for it often. Not this time.
As for the first penalty, while there is no doubt that the players' feet touched, there is also no doubt that the contact did not cause both legs to go flying. It was clearly a dive. What effect the slight touch would have had if the player hadn't been diving, we don't know. But surely not enough to constitute a deliberate foul by the defender.

Quite clearly clips him. Running at pace, that Causes the fall, anyone that has played football knows this.
As for the second, dsr, O Brien was in control of the ball, it was his right to have his foot where he did, then the Forest player kicked the back of his leg. Both clear as day pens.

That's not a right that extends to a defender. If O'Brien had been the defender, they would be shouting for a penalty to Forest.
As for the first, it's arguable that the touch made it impossible for Toffolo to put one foot down. It certainly didn't stop him putting the other foot down. He took a dive to exaggerate the contact.
I know it's a school of thought that touching a defender and flinging oneself to the floor is one of the skills of football and a penalty is the fair reward. I don't agree.

One word deluded. This isn't the 70's or 80's anymore, and they'll do well just to cement their PL place next season.
Most sensible Forest fans would consider simply staying in the Prem for a few seasons success.

I was at the play-off final, and seen both teams play this season before yesterday. The gulf is huge between Premier League and Championship. If these are two of the best then we've hopefully got not much to worry about. Famous last words though eh. Huddersfield play some lovely, lovely stuff but really need a striker. Ward and Rhodes are too similar to each other, and neither are good enough. Said it before on this board but Lewis O'Brien is some player. Best on the pitch every time I've seen him play. Excellent passer, tenacious, and a great engine with bursts from midfield. Forest couldn't cope with him yesterday, fouled him about four times in the first fifteen minutes. He would be truly superb for Burnley but doubt we could afford him and I'd be surprised if Premier League sides aren't looking at him. He's better than anything we have currently.
As for Forest, I can't remember a more raggy play-off win. Johnson, Spence, Yates... none of them turned up really. Davis, a little bit.
Was a very ordinary game verging on a poor one. Play-off finals can be tense and I don't remember our win in 09 being an example of blistering silky soccer.
Forest will struggle unless they chuck cash at it. And Spence and Johnson may leave.
Huddersfield, if they keep their best players, Corberan, and sign a striker... they'll be up there again.

He wouldn't come unless Burnley offered vastly more wages and he felt he had next to no chance of a PL team paying for him.
