One easy choice for me (Ings) one difficult (Barnes, Vokes, Wood). It always surprises me how much love Blake gets as a PL player - he scored 2 goals for Burnley in the PL. Same as Wout Weghorst, but in more games. I went for Barnes, though I'm not sure if either Vokes or Wood wouldn't make a better foil for Ings.

Now this one will be difficult…

I can see a lot of sentimental votes for one player in particular (Blake) which makes this incredibly hard to call.

Chris Wood surely has to be in there for his consistency over several seasons but choosing the other striker won’t be easy.

Blake had one season in the Premier League when he didn't really impress at all. Ings had one season when he did well but, for me, should be nowhere near the top two.

Wood (easy decision) and Barnes (just ahead of vokes) not so easy decision. Consistency at Prem level for us over more than a season wins it for me.

Wood the easy choice, then was a bit stuck with Ings, Barnes & Vokes.

Went for Ings just

If you’re looking for the best team based on performance at Premier League level then it’s Barnes and Wood by some significant distance. That’s how I voted as I’m pretty sure that’s what we’re voting for.

If it was best players to play in the Premier League for Burnley then it’s Ings and Blake, again by some distance.

Hi Tony I think there's a typo in the poll question. It asks us to pick our "wide" strikers, rather than centre forwards.

We've not been blessed with a "wide" centre forward since Ade Akinbiyi but he was very lean.

Ings has gone on to be a great striker in the PL for other teams. Shouldn’t be in our top 2 though. He should for a Championship team.

I'll wavered between those criteria. It's a fine line and I can't easily justify why I sometimes go with one rather than the other.

Sorted, the word WIDE has now been removed.

It's clearly the first - based on performances in the Premier League.

Yes but some more talented players haven't played consistently as long for us.

Take those voting for Blake in this round for example. Let's be honest, he's picking up votes because he is a club legend owing to his exploits in the seasons beforehand.

Ings vs Wood sums it up perfectly. Ings had more talent but only played enigmatically for a single season. The other was consistent over 3 seasons but never had quite the same ability. They're still being judged on how they played for us in the Prem.

For me it’s about quality not longevity. Otherwise players that played just one season would be disqualified. On that basis Danny Ings HAS to be included, he was our best player in 14-15 by a country mile and also better than any of the strikers that came afterwards. Then, probably controversially I’ve gone for Steven Fletcher, again because of the quality he showed in his one season (okay, I’m ready to be shot down!).

Blake is my favorite ever player so it really hurt to leave him out.

I went for Barnes and Ings, but on reflection I probably should have gone for Wood and Barnes.

Ings and Woods for me, it's not even close.
A pairing of those two in prime form would be some partnership

Nugent was our best striker in 09/10, I think.
But you can't really argue with the players with the most goals and appearances being the best strikers.

Nugent over Fletcher? Okay I’ll grant you that. You possibly saw more of them actually playing!

On the criteria set out I'd certainly have Nugent and Fletcher over Blake. And Blake was my favourite player growing up.

Wood by a distance and then Barnes for me. Honourable mention Vokes and Ings.

That's the bit I can never get my head around. Blake scored 11 PL goals in his career, between Bradford, Birmingham, Burnley, and Bolton. (He never made it to the C's!) He was an outstanding Championship footballer but a journeyman PL player - all of Ings, Barnes and Wood have managed more in a single season than Blake did in his career.

Very difficult, Woods is a no brainer, ( surprised Wood wasn't in the list 😁 ) tough call between Ings and Barnes but went for Barnes as when him and Wood hit it off we were some force, plus longevity, Ings a far better footballer but our style in the Prem didn't suit him.

Gone for Wood and Ings, they'll win the poll, there's only 1 CB from the all time 11 I didn't chose.

Vokes and Wood for me, mainly because of how long they did well for us at elite level, a notable mention for Barnes and Jay..

Well, I went for the partnership of ings and vokes.

I can understand those voting for Wood, and for Blake, even for Barnes, but with Vings on the pitch, I ALWAYS fancied us to score.

Of those listed, obviously
Blake and Ings were technically ahead of the rest, but I went for how I felt when Vings were together.

It shows the impact that Blake had on pretty much all of us, that not including him, despite doing little at this level, is still a call I don’t like making.

It pained me to choose Wood who despite his goals, I never took to as a player, but he had to be there.

I opted for Barnes for the second but should probably have selected Ings. Head and shoulders above Barnes as a PL player.

I haven't found the selections that difficult. Probably Pope or Heaton was the toughest call for me. In this instance I went Wood and Ings.

I almost went for Fletcher, I thought he was a brilliant player whom I really enjoyed watching, however I went for Barnes and Vokes. Wood was certainly up there but It was the emergance of McNeil that helped Wood whereas I thought Barnes and Vokes were far more about the team and that goal against Liverpool did it for me.

That was tough. I can't think of ings now without a v-red shirt on, and was tempted to vote for juke and vyds so that they finished ahead of someone else who turned out to have nine (9) votes somehow. The vyds goal at Southampton was better than anything our Turkish loanee did all half season.

I went for Ings and Fletcher as they were far better footballers than the rest in the PL
Obviously Barnes and Wood scored more over longer periods but it's an opinion poll and them two are my type of footballers.
