Maybe, although I think Bastien is better further up the pitch

FC Bruges are apparently selling defender N'Soki to Hoffenheim.
May affect sale of Hendry, depends to be seen

Yeah, I do feel covered now in Mid, will defo have to max and match a bit over the season, but that's normal, and keep the squad interested.
Rumours - would really like Sepp. Very rated.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
The flexibilty on Friday showed there is nothing to fear from losing one of the Cork, Cullen, Brownhill, Bastien quartet. Losing two could be problematic. When Westy is fit we have real competition for places in there.
Goal scoring Striker is key to a great season. CB seems to be high up on the wish list but with the cover provided on Friday not essential.

Heard this morning that a couple “out of the blue” are expected.
No idea if that includes Benson or Cabral, mind.

Feedback from Benfica supporting mate on Cabral.

Do we know what our total spend has been since signing our first signing McNally including £3.3m for Benson assuming it goes ahead . Not our net spend factoring outgoing sales but just our incoming purchases (an estimate would do).

That says there is an IMPORTANT issue with the fee structure still to be resolved. Doesn't sound done yet.claretandy wrote: ↑Mon Aug 01, 2022 8:45 pmBenson on his way ...

To be fair we’ve done well to this point in being relatively ‘aggressive’ in getting deals done. As the Belgian press report though, this one appears to be ‘dragging on’.

At the end of this window we could do with knocking a bit off the debt if at all possible just leaving a little bit to play with in January.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Cabral off to Besiktas who will presumably pay him 50k a week.
As far as any Belgian club, we are seemingly (now) a busted flush who walks away from the table. We offer a mill, they ask for 6, we seem to meet around 3, but we won’t go higher (as per Bart). They know we have money so the market gets inflated.
Becomes expensive to work in.

I said yesterday that there were a few posts saying Cabral was still going to Turkey, they've been in for him for a few weeks but thought the fee was too high.
It appears that our interest has just forced their hand.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Maybe, I suppose we'll never know, I'm sure because of how active we are in the market that we will be used several times by agents during this window.
In regards Benson, we have to be prudent with the cash we have, being aggressive to push deals through early is one thing but overpaying because we are impatient is another.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
The level of ambition we are showing is so high for the level we are now at that we have to get used to disappointment, but some will get over the line.
It is obvious that the club is really going for it and will need to sell to finance that change, so selling all those players was probably vital, including Max.

I know we are not allowed to talk about money on this thread, but it does seem that the fact we have a limited amount and still large holes in the squad isn't really getting through to some peopleGodIsADeeJay81 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 8:25 amBusted flush or a club which doesn't want to pay what they'd consider to be over the odds?

I personally don’t see the large holes you mention. Probably two players shy (attacking midfield / winger) and striker (or two) short of having a very competitive squad.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 8:36 amI know we are not allowed to talk about money on this thread, but it does seem that the fact we have a limited amount and still large holes in the squad isn't really getting through to some people

We’ve successfully negotiated 9 deals so far this window. On the VERY early evidence, we appear to have brought some good players in.
There are 29 days of the window left. Don’t fret.

Royal Antwerp appear to be dicking us around with the fee, keep adding more whenever we match it.
Time to move on. Unfortunate for the lad but we can't be held ransom. Wouldn't pay more than 3/4 mill for him.

The fact that it's been reported as agreed several times, and then reported as being too low the day after.
Latest figure stands at 4 million euros, originally it was believed they just wanted to recoup their investment of 3 million euros.
Safe to say they are probably messing us around because they know we've made some big sales.
Obviously nobody knows for certain but it certainly appears that way.

I think what we have done is amazing, but we still have quite a few holes in the squad to be genuinely competitive (ie to compete with a few injuries)agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Aug 02, 2022 8:51 amWe’ve successfully negotiated 9 deals so far this window. All I was really commenting on was the post about how we were not paying what other clubs demanded for their players, when we have to use our limited funds wisely to fill the gaps we have
I think we've done really well so far considering

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Not a rumour but if Antwerp are messing us around and we’ve reached the top figure we are prepared to go, I’d be switching my attention to Bowler at Blackpool, championship experience, young, exciting and an asking price of 3-4million, ticks all the boxes for me.

Went from "safe to say they are probably messing us around" to "obviously nobody knows for certain" in 1 sentence.
The fact that it has been reported as agreed and not enough being offered suggests more like the person doing the reporting got something wrong.
