There was a thread the other week about tye different nationalities we've had playing for us. Is this the first Turk?

This thread is even better than the video

I do wonder how we're going to play all these lads, but it's a long season and rotation will be needed I guess. We certainly have strength in depth and this lad will presumably push Barnes down the pecking order, which can only be a good thing.

Can people not comment on the video then? What a bizarre reaction.
As other posters have said ‘what else can we say that hasn’t already been said’ but no one has seen the video, hence the reaction!

It is certainly the 1st Turkish International we've had.

But I consider him a Belgian. Born and raised as a citizen of the country, in my mind it does not matter where your parents or grandparents came from.

Bizarre post. Brian Stock ? Why ?
Becuase there was lot of long, drawn out speculation about signing him... then it finally happened.

I didn't even know Dervişoğlu was in the mix until I saw picture of him in a Burnley shirt with agent. We've probably signed someone else while typing this. Boring

It's just another channel of media for people to consume. I'm sure people said the same about radio and TV producers in the early days.

It's exciting times like these when I look forward to the "articles" from CT

Forget the video's of the new players - lets see some of the great CT himself

Any ideas on the themes he would suit ;)

Indeed, for me it all went wrong with the power-loom.....! Since then it's just been one disaster after another, TV, cars, social media platforms, YouTube, leveraged buy-outs - oooh how did that one slip in there.

Quite a few I'd not heard of but had definitely heard of seven of them before - have to admit the only one who has come from Belgium that I knew of is Cullen. But my knowledge of European football is poor, I'd not even heard of Defour.
I think CT has penned a new anthem for the CFS...

Instead of going on the game and watching the match I wish the club would just do an announcement video revealing the score instead.

Well this thread soon went off topic didn't it.

As for the signing, not unexpected but welcome never the less. we needed a striker, and we've got one even if it is a loan.

Maybe a CB if we're being greedy, but as long as we hold onto our key players in the next few hours it'll have been a surprisingly good window.

I'm excited by this guy, he isn't an out and out number nine but he looks strong and think he can be a real asset this year.

Remember some on here were turning their noses up at Tella.

I think this guy will be a very decent acquisition for us, he knows the league, has plenty of games under his belt at a young age and is ready to make his mark.

And will he have a pair of them funny curly pointy-upward slippers?

Looks like a realistic alternative to Jay in that deep lying/false 9 role he played so well the other night for us. Jay has had his injury struggles so it's great we have someone who could probably slot in seamlessly there when required.

The only issue?

Keeping: Rodriguez, Barnes, Twine, Tella, Brownhill, Zaroury, Churlinov, Benson, Gudmundsson, Dervisoglu and, possibly, Obafemi all happy. What a bloody position for us to be in though that is.

Looking forward to see Halil play. Welcome to the Turf. Hopefully Ben Mee has had a quiet word with him before he travelled up north and has given him a good impression of us. If so, I'm sure he will settle in well.

There's some weird people on here, they wait for the right moment and go full attack mode on CT consistently, the same posters over and over again. This place has a serious problem with people holding online grudges because they once disagreed with an opinion. I think it's alot of 50+ year old men, who aren't used to the internet.

Think it's pronounced something like Dervish-oh-lu. The ş is a 'sh' and the ğ isn't a g, it just lengthens the vowel before it.

Happy to have my amateur Turkish proven wrong if he tells us!

I’ve got to the point of trusting the process. Looks like
he can come in from deep and create chances and that clearly fits with what we are seeing in our style of play.

Gone are the days of having a focal striker with the aim of trying to give them enough chances to score the odd goal.

Thank you for the reports on these, I am another who has/ had no clue as to any of these signings snd do appreciate the background work on them.

As for this chap, assuming that he is at least at the same level as the other loanees then he will hopefully be an asset. It does puzzle me though if he is as good as some of the reviews from Brentford fan since I did not see them like Chelsea or City and would need all the help they could get to stay in the PL.

Will watch his progress with interest as from the little I’ve seen of him he looks a quality player and think he will smash the championship and was sorry to see him leave.Good luck this season in the best league in the world I miss it.

As it caused such a "discussion", I thought I'd check out this twitter announcement for myself (I don't usually bother).

Is that really it? Do people really look forward to these?

Sad.

Footy was better when you used to hear about a new signing in't paper tut next day, and you'd be waiting in't paper shop, talking about tut miner's being on strike, and you'd finally get your paper but you'd start coughing up your lungs because you've got cancer, and you're now dead, and your pipe rolls out your hand, and everything is in black & white, even the traffic lights, which weren't working 'cause there were a power blackout, there were.

Luxury.

This is still the case in Blackburn.

In that case, I'm proud to be old school.

Nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately I can’t see clubcall coming back anytime soon!! Anyway let’s hope there’s another couple of videos to come tonight!

As it caused such a "discussion", I thought I'd check out this twitter announcement for myself (I don't usually bother).

Is that really it? Do people really look forward to these?

Sad.
Yes we do, both a large section of Burnley fans and a widening group of football fans in general.
Whilst it's not to everyone's taste, it's doing a good job of helping to raise the club's profile.

I'll be more than happy reading about it on here or even SSN, if I can be bothered.

I don't need some cheesy video that looks like it's been cobbled together by a spotty teenager.

If you say so, but you must be easily pleased.
