ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
There was a thread the other week about tye different nationalities we've had playing for us. Is this the first Turk?
Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
This thread is even better than the video
I do wonder how we're going to play all these lads, but it's a long season and rotation will be needed I guess. We certainly have strength in depth and this lad will presumably push Barnes down the pecking order, which can only be a good thing.

CT’s post was clearly a throw away comment. Think people need to get off his back about it and just chill out. It’s obvious that people are commenting about the vids because they’ve never heard of the player.

It is certainly the 1st Turkish International we've had.
But I consider him a Belgian. Born and raised as a citizen of the country, in my mind it does not matter where your parents or grandparents came from.

Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Becuase there was lot of long, drawn out speculation about signing him... then it finally happened.
I didn't even know Dervişoğlu was in the mix until I saw picture of him in a Burnley shirt with agent. We've probably signed someone else while typing this. Boring

PA guy's going to struggle with this. He can't even tell the difference between Tella and Vitinho

It's exciting times like these when I look forward to the "articles" from CT
Forget the video's of the new players - lets see some of the great CT himself
Any ideas on the themes he would suit

Instead of going on the game and watching the match I wish the club would just do an announcement video revealing the score instead.

Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Well this thread soon went off topic didn't it.
As for the signing, not unexpected but welcome never the less. we needed a striker, and we've got one even if it is a loan.
Maybe a CB if we're being greedy, but as long as we hold onto our key players in the next few hours it'll have been a surprisingly good window.

I'm excited by this guy, he isn't an out and out number nine but he looks strong and think he can be a real asset this year.clarethomer wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 3:12 pmApologies CT but here is the 1st Interview from the club

Remember some on here were turning their noses up at Tella.
I think this guy will be a very decent acquisition for us, he knows the league, has plenty of games under his belt at a young age and is ready to make his mark.

Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Looks like a realistic alternative to Jay in that deep lying/false 9 role he played so well the other night for us. Jay has had his injury struggles so it's great we have someone who could probably slot in seamlessly there when required.
The only issue?
Keeping: Rodriguez, Barnes, Twine, Tella, Brownhill, Zaroury, Churlinov, Benson, Gudmundsson, Dervisoglu and, possibly, Obafemi all happy. What a bloody position for us to be in though that is.

Looking forward to see Halil play. Welcome to the Turf. Hopefully Ben Mee has had a quiet word with him before he travelled up north and has given him a good impression of us. If so, I'm sure he will settle in well.

There's some weird people on here, they wait for the right moment and go full attack mode on CT consistently, the same posters over and over again. This place has a serious problem with people holding online grudges because they once disagreed with an opinion. I think it's alot of 50+ year old men, who aren't used to the internet.Pearcey wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 2:51 pmCT’s post was clearly a throw away comment. Think it's pronounced something like Dervish-oh-lu. The ş is a 'sh' and the ğ isn't a g, it just lengthens the vowel before it.

he can come in from deep and create chances and that clearly fits with what we are seeing in our style of play.
Gone are the days of having a focal striker with the aim of trying to give them enough chances to score the odd goal.

Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Thank you for the reports on these, I am another who has/ had no clue as to any of these signings snd do appreciate the background work on them.
As for this chap, assuming that he is at least at the same level as the other loanees then he will hopefully be an asset. It does puzzle me though if he is as good as some of the reviews from Brentford fan since I did not see them like Chelsea or City and would need all the help they could get to stay in the PL.

Re: ARTICLE: Dervişoğlu signs in from Brentford
Will watch his progress with interest as from the little I’ve seen of him he looks a quality player and think he will smash the championship and was sorry to see him leave.Good luck this season in the best league in the world I miss it.
