We are getting help from VKs future employerNonayforever wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:09 pmI really don't know how the management / recruitment team have managed to target so many players from so far afield in the time span allowed.
It really is mind boggling from a BFC fans point of view in comparison to many recent seasons.
However they have achieved this minor miracle it's certainly brightened things up this season.
If they are all of the same ilk then we are in for a really treat

We did one. It had him signing lots of contracts and quipped ‘that took a long time to sign’ or something like that!Nonayforever wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:18 pmWithout being too derogatory towards any player, but could you imagine what Dale Stephens reveal video would have looked like.

We did enhance the squad, just not in large numbers. But we’ve been shopping in Aldi rather than Harrods this window, it’s no surprise we’ve managed to buy more.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
But as someone has pointed out, excluding the loan players, we have only bought about 4 first team players.
It's all relative. We could have bought potential in the past windows but didn't really.

Hopefully it's like the stock in Aldi, same stuff just in a different wrapper and much cheaper.

I think you may change your mind about the quality of some of these young players in time.

How many of the players we signed in the Premier League were first team renowned Premier League players? Pope? Cornet? Weghorst? Brownhill?gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:24 pmNo, but we aren’t exactly signing first team renowned players for the championship are we? We would have done the same in the PL make no doubt had Kompany had been here.

Madness 16 new players from over 70 names linked over the summer
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
How many players have we now? We can only register 25 so some are going to miss out at this rate. Goalkeepers could take 3 spots unless we go with just 2.

The likes of THB CJ and Costelloe(Been with us for a few years) wouldn’t need to be registered I don’t think. Not sure about the Foreign U21s

I was on the edge of my seat when we finished 7th in the Premier League. What about you?CardyTheClaret wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:22 pmYour list equates to one every two years, hardly edge of your seats stuff.
We sold pr lost most of our best players this close season and had to rebuild so.its not at all comparable. A decent team adds one or two not ten. Dyche was starved of money. This haranguing of Dyche is brainless. I am delighted with what we are doing in this lower division with these signings and loans but lets see in May what it brings and if it brings promotion lets see what it brings the following May.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I haven’t commented on their quality, but the quality we’re looking for is in the context of the championship not the Premier League. I’m not saying some won’t be good enough for the Premier League in time, but if they were ready now then Premier League teams would have been in for them and they’d have cost more money.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:27 pmI think you may change your mind about the quality of some of these young players in time.

Yeah. If only we’d have loaned players from Brentford and Southampton when we were in the Premier League.gandhisflipflop wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:11 pmMakes a mockery of all the guff and excuses on here as to why we couldn’t attract players in previous seasons.

Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
I agree, and my main issue with the previous regime was not so much who they signed for "the first 11", but who the club paid fortunes to for absolutely no return. It was unsustainable.martin_p wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:32 pmI haven’t commented on their quality, but the quality we’re looking for is in the context of the championship not the Premier League. There weren’t many to be fair. Stephens definitely, but we got our money’s worth out of most of the others.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:35 pmI agree, and my main issue with the previous regime was not so much who they signed for "the first 11", but who the club paid fortunes to for absolutely no return. Great that the club had an alternative ready to go, but Beyer flew over yesterday didn't he according to his interview?
Would suggest he was more than just an alternative

We have our full quota now so could only use it for outgoings either way.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
Yes and we've been in the Premier League since up to.this season ans spent how much in that time. But you're really missed the point but never mind.

I think it is free transfers only. We can have more loans, but can only name a total of 5 in a matchday squad.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick with my post here, I’m saying that we wouldn’t have been signing first team renowned players had we been in the PL, which is what the poster I was replying to was suggesting.
Re: Transfer Rumours Thread - NO FINANCIAL DISCUSSION
And who were these fortunes paid to Bill? I'd say Pope Tarkowski and others have repaid the club in oodles. Not to mention colossal profits on Gray, Wood and McNeil and others. Name me a club in the top division that hasn't lost out on some buys.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2022 10:35 pmI agree, and my main issue with the previous regime was not so much who they signed for "the first 11", but who the club paid fortunes to for absolutely no return. Brownhill staying is potentially even better than any of our 16 signings.

Is there a loan window?
(Not asking for us to sign anyone else, just thinking r.e the likes of Phillips, Tucker, possibly Costelloe etc).
