Stop talking nonsense.pushpinpussy wrote: ↑Wed Dec 21, 2022 8:54 amI am telling you all now, no serving police officer's will have witnessed anything and i very much doubt body cam footage would have been on in these circumstances. However, if there is BWF, i will guarantee you that if it is incriminating against the police it wont be served as evidence meaning it will be erased in 30 days.
I have worked on various response teams over the years where officers get challenged by their colleagues and supervisors for their actions, certainly if they are deemed to have fallen below the standards expected.
If an officer doesn’t feel confident in challenging behaviour, if they are younger in service for example, then there is a confidential phone number to report officers as well.
Any engagement I have with members of the public, my camera is on. Body worn cameras are the best thing the Police have brought in. Complaints against the Police have dwindled as a result.
There are strict criteria for when and where you should have your cameras on, and at certain calls, such as domestics, they are mandatory. If a camera isn’t on when it should be, officers will get hauled over the coals.
If an officer is using force on a person, then their camera MUST be on. If it isn’t, then quite rightly the impression given is the officer has something to hide.

I know nothing about the incident, so I presume there's far worse than that video. Because that just shows the police doing a pretty good job in a potentially volatile situation with some fans acting like dicks, and the rest just getting out the way and going home.

We have been in discussions with the police on the events on Belvedere Road after the Middlesbrough game. There were issues on both sides and the police are dealing with theirs. We agreed that the main problem was the parking of the coach across the top of Ormerod Yard. That was a club issue.

There was a huge gap in front of the coach, presumably so the cars could leave from the cricket club, but let’s be honest, they wouldn’t have been able to leave very quickly anyway with the amount of supporters that had to walk on the road.
Why couldn’t the police have done what they usually do when there are a lot of coaches and parked nose to tail

There was also a pic on twitter of 2 police holding a bloke with a hat on down on the floor. Don't know if that was the bloke that was allegedly punched by the police. Can't find it now

Absolute rubbish, You are just saying the right things for the public. I do trials regularly where the officer's do not have BWF or they do not conveniently switch them on. If they do have them on and its incriminating you wont be surprised that they are sometimes deemed as non-evidential recordings and disposed of within the 31 days.
Re: Police after Boro
Personally, I think the police have enough problems to deal with in today's society without DHs looking for trouble after matches.

I'm ambivalent about the politics albeit having worked in the public services I have no doubt that speaking out on issues is not good for your career and many just keep their mouths shut. It's why we see so many horrific cases social work cases come to light but it's the same in the NHS, Education and no doubt the Police. .
What I saw was two police offices on horse back riding at Middlesbrough fans in between two buses.
It looked quite unnecessary but I wouldn't go as far as to say putting people in danger.

There are certain things you realise as you grow up. Santa isn't real, and the police as a rule, aren't to be trusted, are two.
I found out two acquaintances joined the force as late entrants, and instinctively i now see them very differently. Its just how it is.

Re: Police after Boro
You wouldn't get anyone round in any reasonable time, so id just get the reference number and call my insurance.
All those instances would be evidence of where they failed to prevent a crime, and purport to be of some use after the fact.
Simply not fit for purpose

So your child goes missing, or your wife gets sexually assaulted you'd just ring for a reference number. Out of interest, when was the last time you called Police here in the UK? What sort of response did you get?ŽižkovClaret wrote: ↑Thu Dec 22, 2022 8:51 amYou wouldn't get anyone round in any reasonable time, so id just get the reference number and call my insurance.

We’re obviously never going to prevent all crime unfortunately, be great if we could, but as indicator of how much we’re struggling, our staffing levels on response team are consistently 60/70% of where they should be.
You are right when you say the Police aren’t fit for purpose, just like the NHS isn’t, the Fire Service isn’t, the London Ambulance Service isn’t (indeed all ambulance services). All public services are on their knees.
Did you know that here in the Met, only 22% of our time is dealing with crime related incidents. The rest is covering for the ambulance service, social services, and other agencies that have just given up.
But one thing I can assure you is if you call 999 in genuine need of emergency, you will get officers in minutes, through hell or high water.

Been a long time since i interacted with the police in the UK, most recently would have been in 2012 or so when informing traffic police that several customers were in fact insured, and that they should be allowed to carry on with their journey.
I used to enjoy their exasperation when they exclaimed "But we already called the recovery vehicle to take it to the pound"

Re: Police after Boro
This is not anti-police, but a surprisingly true story. Even I admit it's barely believable.
I was working on a college near Huddersfield town centre. I had just finished work and had just set off driving home to Holmfirth. A guy that I droving past lifted an object out of his boot with a grey blanket covering it. A gust of wind blew the blanket off the barrel of a sterling sub machine gun. I stopped at Holmfirth police station to report this at the desk. This is about 1991.
The desk officer must have thought I was a right nutter. I explained my army days etc. Righty oh sir, thank you. They weren't interested which house etc.
6 months later a bank was robbed in Huddersfield using a sterling sub machine gun.
Guess what? the police never contacted me. Nor have they in the last 31 years. I can still remember which house it was being carried into.

Had a flash back last night
walking back to the away coaches area at Old Trafford and you had to funnel through a gap roughly a car width , with a police control tower to the right. As we were trying to walk through the gap a female officer on a white horse was struggling to control it blocking the exit. Surely not the famous one from Saturday or could it be just white horses ! Had a little snigger to myself
