Main thing is VK really wanted him and the board have backed him, I’ll take that everyday.

Let's hope these signings have been made with survival in the PL in mind. Southampton are happy with Tella 'ripping up the Championship ' as they've figured he's 'lightweight ' at the higher level.

It might not mean the IMMEDIATE end of Barnes, but we know he can’t possibly keep this up, and he won’t feature at the next level.

Sad, but this will be his last season here.

Been a terrific signing, a great pro and always showed great attitude and fight.

I’d love to see him start at deadwood tho…. They are PETRIFIED of him.

Good news. Its a massive fee if you go solely on his CV to date, but he's clearly got lots of potential and has the physique and athleticism to be a hit in English football.

Might take him a while to adapt, so patience may be needed. It's clearly a medium to long term strategy and let's hope it comes off.

Credit the club for backing Kompany.

I'd be keeping Barnes at all costs till the summer. His experience and knowledge how is invaluable on and off the pitch IMO.

Not to mention, even with Foster (who may take a bit of time to adapt), we only have three true strikers.

Really excited to see what this lad brings to the table. The prospect of the pace of him, Benson, Tella and Zaroury in the team is pretty frightening for this level.
