I might be in the minority but hypothetically signing Redmond, Barkley and Maitland-Niles on free transfers (yes, large salaries) I see as great business that would significantly improve the depth of the team. You’d think our big spends will be on players we can develop to sell on (I.e, Mikautadze, Tresor, Verbruggen as targets) but a few been there/done it types to aid the younger ones (particularly considering the loss of the likes of Barnes and reduced roles on the pitch of Cork/Taylor and possibly Rodriguez) sounds a wise strategy to me.

The big down side with these players is that they only have a few decent games a season,look at Lingard going to Forest ,had a few good games for West Ham,but couldn’t even make the Forest bench by the end of the season,all appear to have attitude problems,only need these 3 ,and Wout ,and the team spirit would disappear.

Surprised by O'Shea but he's only 24 and has both PL and International experience. Having Beyer, Al-Dakhil, Ekdal and O'Shea to choose from doesn't look bad on paper. All young with time to develop and improve. Roll on the VK revolution!!

I know someone who knows someone who knows Dawson and he thought he was coming the first time in 2014.

I used to work with a lad from Rochdale who is a good mate of Dawson's and he told me at the time that he 100% thought he was coming to Burnley.

Imagine you're a centre half like O'Shea. Your agent calls. One of the best centre halves of the last three or four decades wants to sign you. And Kompany has a good track record when it comes to signing centre halves. How many seconds do you reckon it takes to say yes?
