A combination of Maitland- Niles Barkley would make it even Crazier

Link to O'Shea (cheers Claretswift)
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
O’Shea is an interesting one. Decent defender but didn’t think he was that good on the ball.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
If I'm not wrong, we were interested last summer but he signed a new conteact instead. Kompany is very persistent with his targets (Verbruggen, O'Shea, Mikautadze).

O'Shea is a good defender but it's a strange one really as I don't think he's any better than McNally.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Yeah we were linked. I suppose West Brom’s financial situation might mean that we’ll be getting him cheaper too.

Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
McNally and Thomas out the door then you’d imagine
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
The big down side with these players is that they only have a few decent games a season, look at Lingard going to Forest ,had a few good games for West Ham,but couldn’t even make the Forest bench by the end of the season, all appear to have attitude problems, only need these 3 ,and Wout ,and the team spirit would disappear.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 10:46 amI might be in the minority but hypothetically signing Redmond, Barkley and Maitland-Niles on free transfers (yes, large salaries) I see as great business that would significantly improve the depth of the team. You’d think our big spends will be on players we can develop to sell on (I.e, Mikautadze, Tresor, Verbruggen as targets) but a few been there/done it types to aid the younger ones (particularly considering the loss of the likes of Barnes and reduced roles on the pitch of Cork/Taylor and possibly Rodriguez) sounds a wise strategy to me.

I like it! In future I would like to see all Burnley’s transfer news announced by a man in top hat and tails!! The overseas fans would lap it up, we are, after all, The Royalites!!randomclaret2 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 11:28 amFirst time a Burnley signing has been announced by a chap wearing a Top Hat ?

WBA fans want 10 million for him. You'd think he would be cheaper than that...

Worried for a moment. Thought they meant John O’Shea.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
The Dychiest of Kompany signings.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
I would think that Thomas and McNally will be moved on we won't have to worry about Charlie filling in at centre half. He did a job when required in the championship but not in the Premier league.
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Maybe I’m underrating his ability on the ball, decent stats last season. WBA fans say he’s a leader / organiser too.

I wonder how they did these things in Victorian times ? Can imagine Bob Lord in a Top Hat had he been around in a slightly earlier eraBurnley Ace wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 11:43 amI like it! From a Baggies fan
‘I can see why Kompany wants him. Massively improved with the ball at his feet. Takes responsibility for drawing the opposition in before finding a pass behind the opposition midfield and into one of the forwards. Don’t see him as a Dyche signing.’

Baggies not happy, had him down as future captain material. It's *quite* Dychey but that isn't always a bad thing y'know.

Meant more looking domestically. A West Brom centre half has a Dyche ring to it. But have no doubts he's a fit. Kompany wanted him last summer.RVclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 12:11 pmFrom a Baggies fan

Surprised by O'Shea but he's only 24 and has both PL and International experience. Having Beyer, Al-Dakhil, Ekdal and O'Shea to choose from doesn't look bad on paper. All young with time to develop and improve. Roll on the VK revolution!!

Well, they would wouldn't they? Coventry fans think £2 million is sufficient for McNally.PictoPirate wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 11:49 amWBA fans want 10 million for him. You'd think he would be cheaper than that...

Wonder if McNally will replace O’Shea at WBA.

Ah right. Just had a read on their owner situation. Doesn’t sound good does it. Decent club as well.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 12:44 pmI don't think WBA can afford to buy anyone at the price that we'd want
Re: Summer transfer window 2023 - rumours, links and discussion.
Might seem a Dyche type signing ,and I know folk will say Foxes got relegated, but Johnny Evans was a good signing for them.

It isn't funny to most, its boring. A thread on possible transfers should be interesting at least.Lancasterclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jun 21, 2023 10:05 amTrust me, as someone who gets a lot of abuse from a few select posters, this hasn't been abusive
Yes, its annoying at times, but come on, isn't it funny watching people squabble over stuff like this?
To trawl through the inane petty squabbling of self righteous children, it isn't why members joined this message board.

It was all going through I believe and then West Brom backed out when Irvine became manager.

Wonderkid. Scored against Wales. Low release clause. I'd be amazed if he comes to Burnley.

Imagine you're a centre half like O'Shea. Your agent calls. One of the best centre halves of the last three or four decades wants to sign you. And Kompany has a good track record when it comes to signing centre halves. How many seconds do you reckon it takes to say yes?
