"My Generation" used to like listening to The Who and there was no "Substitute" but "I won't get fooled again"
The Who... never liked them.

UB40.
Two unbelievably good albums followed by a career of dirge.

Yep. Two good albums, then dull rock fodder with Bono's ego growing as big as the Aztec Stadium.

Morrissey has been churning out some good stuff. I Am Not a Dog on a Chain from a couple of years ago is up there with the best of his output.

Feel a bit a bad saying this but Dave Grohl? Not that he’s a bad dude or anything, great guy but Nirvana were absolutely brilliant - Foo Fighters for me at least bar a couple of their early songs is like typical paint by numbers rock music. Boring
I could have wrote that word for word. 100 percent agree.

Alex Turner is a bit of a muppet but lol @ even comparing the arctic monkeys with turd like the courteeners - leagues and leagues apart.

Feel a bit a bad saying this but Dave Grohl? Not that he’s a bad dude or anything, great guy but Nirvana were absolutely brilliant - Foo Fighters for me at least bar a couple of their early songs is like typical paint by numbers rock music. Boring

Chilli Peppers - new stuff is pure turd just chucked together to create an album - really poor live as well with Frusciante now obsessed with tossing his guitar neck off and showing off rather than serving the song. Also something a bit strange with 2 blokes (Flea and Kiedis) both now 60 dancing shirtless on stage.

Vince Neil - just retire man.

Slash - wrote some brilliant solos and riffs on appetite for destruction, now yet another egomaniac guitarist that thinks the entire show is about himself - see the Glastonbury set, overtly long, distasteful solos, tossing his guitar neck off… boring
Actually, the two most disappointing concerts I've ever been to (out of about 6-700) were Foo Fighters and RHCP. RHCP relied on Frusciante 2.0 being able to play Snow, By the Way, etc. I think he's entirely lost his mojo in his third stint with the band.

Foo Fighters relied heavily on Dave Grohl's shouting - often for minutes at a time, placed next to 15-minute drum solos repeatedly during the set. They have some good songs, but they were absolutely dreadful when I saw them - very much like a busted flush. It was the only major concert I actually left early solely because I couldn't stand it anymore.

Saw GN'R in 2016 and it was obvious Axl's voice had gone. I saw bits of the Glastonbury set and it got much worse. I'm due to see them in August - oops!

Aye, I meant U2. The first two albums were good, then dullness descended as well as the god complex.

I suppose they have something in common. Both bands started out ok, and quickly turned into dog bab. Signing Off wasn't a bad album, but who could have predicted what was to come - years of utter shite.

Well there you go!

I think it’s sad really - milking fans when the band is clearly way passed it or not up to it.

Somethings are better left finished rather than constantly beaten out till they’re a mockery of their former selves.

That doesn’t apply to every band still going though, Springsteen for example still an absolute boss (even if you’re not necessarily a fan)

Seeing RHCP on stage with 3/4 members totally in their own little bubble is a bit strange and i think they sound really ‘thin’ - especially when Flea goes off one whilst Frusciante is as well. Little to no groove and just disappointing all round.

Their first two albums were crap. Albums four and five being their only decent output.

Oasis. First two albums great. Went to see them at Earls Court and Knebworth. Had loads of great b sides too. Then went up their own coke infused arses.

Oasis. Not "cant stand" but there's very few songs I can be bothered with now - used to love their music - have it on an hour each way to work on the train then on at home etc

I still listen to Noel's new stuff though.

Agree that Oasis is an obvious one but Coldplay exemplify this even more… three really good albums followed by an ocean of complete and utter bilge. When I hear their most recent stuff I actually think they must be taking the p@!/ it’s so terrible.
I’m glad that Queen have been mentioned too …. Steadily downhill into total dross the Sheet Heart Attack album onwards .
I’ll add The Killers….. thought their debut album was fantastic , not so keen on the follow up and actively dislike anything I’ve heard subsequently.

I agree about U2 and Queen, although the latter's decine started after Sheer Heart Attack for me.

I'm siding with clovius b on this one, unless by the fourth one you mean the live at red rocks album.

And I'm not sure the bono is to blame entirely. The guitar work changed for "war" - which was sort of innovative, but you can't thereafter do that trick every ******* track and expect the net result to be a masterpiece.

It works for benson cutting in from the right and putting it top left past the keeper. I'll have a few albums worth of that.
