It was the right decision - but an absolute shambles.

We've looked very poor again today. At least there's no VAR in the Championship ...

We can’t blame VAR for that performance though

The big thing to remember after that game isn’t the contention around VAR - it’s how utterly terrible the lot of them were against a side that hadn’t won a single game before today.

A disgraceful performance to a man.

If that’s the case and he scores with his head fair call. Score with your feet and not. Basically var has ruined he game. Id have been happier standing with refs call’s. Rather than have a 7minute stoppage for some random guys who cant draw lines to try to make up their minds
Even if it was actually onside and VAR would correct it? As Potchettino said the other week, it’s not the car that is the problem, it’s the driver.

If we extract the hyperbole and histrionics from the situation he was offside.

They drew the line wrong, you could say jrods head past the first one they did, so they did another to be sure.

Doesn’t seem as bad when you put it that way but that it took 4 mins to get to that conclusion, the right conclusion it must be said, is the crime and they’re rightly going to cop for it (again)

Bitterly disappointing.
We offered zilch in the second half, our attacking intent invisible.
Vitinho desperately out of depth at this level.

Trying to stay positive but seems we were outplayed by a very poor Bournemouth side, and fair to say that our performances seem to be getting worse than better. Hard to see where the points will come. We get excited by playing the lower league clubs and make it easy for them. Confidence seems to be at an all time low

Deservedly beaten but robbed.

I am never convinced about the offside lines at the best of times. It seemed obvious from TV replays that the guy on the far side was playing Jay on, based on the cut of the pitch. Just as ai’m not convinced about the timing of the pass freeze frame. 6 inches is within the margin of technical error for me.

But then to take 5 minutes over it, which kills our momentum, is a farce and wrong. Should be a new rule - if offside cannot be proven in 60 seconds it is a goal.

By the way, it’s absolutely ******* cretinous that people are calling for Kompany’s head after ten games at a higher level after the season we’ve just had.

A blind man on a galloping horse can see the problems, do you really think he’s unaware of them himself? No one is happy with the situation but he’s earnt the right to fix it.

No point blaming VAR. Off sides are fairly clinical-I know it hurts but you cant change it. What you can change is fighting and competing for the shirt

The 1st angle VAR showed where the green line appeared was virtually parallel to the incident, the one they conjured up to disallow it was at least 30° off being parallel, work that out

We are where we are and it is what is it for a reason.
We have been totally outplayed and dominated by both Brentford and now Bournemouth, teams who we at least should be competing against on the pitch.
The effort, thought and passion we had last season has gone.

Regardless of the final decision, you cannot show one camera angle with a green line showing it was onside - then **** about for 4 minutes trying to find another camera angle to change the decision. There needs to be some form of communication with fans as to the reasoning why the original angle wasn't sufficient. It's not rocket science.

Surely the offside 'rules' as they now stand are so far removed from what they were originally designed for ( basically to stop teams ' baby lining', not to disallow goals because the striker might have bigger feet or a bigger nose than the defender)

For me, if any part of the attackers body is onside when they draw the line then it's so close a call it shouldn't be offside.

Doesn't excuse another poor performance today though ☹️

Battered by a team without a win all season, following the last 2 games, says everything about this team.
It's hopeless.

We do have good players, but we have a crap team. A lot of that has to be laid at VKs door. He's had plenty of opportunity to change us, but instead has stuck with the same rudderless shite.
We are going down now, not because we lost today, but because our performances are just nowhere near good enough. Even losing to Spurs and Villa there were signs of possibilities, but that's gone. I'm so ****** off right now.

It’s actually mental what we’ve done, beyond ludicrous.

Six months of wrong decision after wrong decision.

It wasn’t meant to go like this? What the hell! Staggering.

Signings, system change, blind faith to new signings, everything.

If you’d have said to a Burnley fan in May we’d be as poor as we are with a motley crue of signings they have looked at you like you’re an Alien
