He won't offer much if we are defending most of the game and then giving the ball away.

I know the bar is quite low after that first 45 minutes but I thought he was one of the better performers.expoultryboy wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:29 pmTresor is awful , he's contributing nothing upfront and not assisting Taylor in defence . Foster doesn't look match fit and Amdouni has great skill but has no end product . Brownhill and Berge are being overrun and need help .

He’s very much a ‘playmaker’ that looks to pass first and drift inside -spt_claret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:27 pmSorry, yes Genk, just assumed Anderlecht because Kompany I think.
I agree but Tresor allegedly had a turn of pace according to some on here. Not seen it today. Move Odobert left, Gudmundsson or Redmond right for me.
Maybe Larsen as he likes to try get in behind but God I'd be scared at how exposed we'd be on the side based on his last few games.
It’s annoying that VK keeps making these baffling decisions that make it easier for the opposition…
Luckily we are somehow still in this game - hopefully we show more in the second half.

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
We've come second in just about every 50/50 challenge.. that has to change , and quick.
Foster doesn't look right yet, and Berge has been powder puff.
Not quite over yet, but a second goal will end it as any kind of contest.
Let's remember, though, that the opposition is one of the best club sides on the planet eh?...and grow up a bit?

I am not surprised. I said at the start of this thread before kick off how disastrous that can be against Liverpool. Very naïve of Kompany not to alter tactics to nullify the opposition strengths.Croydon Claret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:27 pmMcManaman going nuts at our playing out from the back style

Where is the fight in this team
Teams used to hate having to play at the Turf
Now it’s just a walk in the park
We need to get at them get in there face
Very poor first half

Tresor disappointing again. Should offer far more than this.
Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
He scored whilst playing on the right like 2 days ago, keep up. Good to see you back commenting while we’re losing though, you were absent when we won.Superjohnnyfrancis wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:25 pmMoved Odobert to the right in first five minutes, done nothing all game but looked like a good player on the left for last 3 matches![]()

To all the comments about Berge not playing well, the soft yellow card he got early in the first half will have affected that.

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
Trouble is I don't know where that player fits in with us. The central attacking mid, or offset/second striker, is too central and narrow and isn't built around being that sort of producer in our system, at leat not now- Brownhill did it at times last year but we don't have a player who can play false nine like Barnes or Tella-style wide forward now (or if we do aren't using them as such). Further back is too deep, we don't play 433 where you could have a slightly more advanced midfield playmaker, we certainly can't play the 4141 City sometimes play where they have a bank of 4 attacking midfielders.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:30 pmHe’s very much a ‘playmaker’ that looks to pass first and drift inside -

He's just not what we need and I'm baffled why we spent all that money on him rather than either Tella, or a Tella replacement when he was so vital to our style and is such a different player to Tresor or really any of our wingers except maaaaybe Odobert or Larsen at brief times.

Commentator getting our players names wrong all the time… it’s not like they don’t have massive numbers and their names on their shirts

This has been done to death so I won’t bother - but he’d probably have worked really well with a Tella type.spt_claret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:39 pmHe's just not what we need and I'm baffled why we spent all that money on him rather than either Tella, or a Tella replacement when he was so vital to our style and is such a different player to Tresor or really any of our wingers except maaaaybe Odobert or Larsen at brief times.
The problem is that the wingers we signed all like to play predominantly on the left.

Re: Burnley Vs Liverpool - Match Thread
I'm still not sure- maybe if we'd stuck to last year's system and he was in the Brownhill role but I'm not sure he's got the physicality to do it. Amdouni doesn't seem to either, but I'm not convinced he would either..CoolClaret wrote: ↑Tue Dec 26, 2023 6:42 pmThis has been done to death so I won’t bother - but he’d probably have worked really well with a Tella type.

The standard must be really low in Belgium if tresor got 30 assists or whatever the stat is.

I hate him out wide due to his lack of pace and dynamism but I don't think Larsen's the answer here.
