Re: TST
Women looked good. Narrow defeat after being 1-0 up for most of the second half. Sadly conceded a late equaliser through a gk error and then they scored first in the TST period.
Better to watch than the men though. Hope they manage to get a run together.

Re: TST
Sorry if already mentioned (couldn't be bothered to look through 260+ posts) but George Boyd is playing for Wrexham again in this competition.
He played for them last season, along with Liam Grimshaw (Burnley lad and big Burnley fan ) who now plays for Dundee United, recently promoted to the Scottish prem. George played at Wythenshawe Town last season and they were promoted after beating Bury AFC in playoff.
I followed the competition last season, where Wrexham made knockouts stage. They have done it again this year. Apparently George is playing very well again. 7 a side is a totally different game to 11 a side and even 5 a side. George as those of us who saw him play was an unbelievable athlete, non stop.
The teams who progressed last year, i seemed to remember had alot of Mexican players and American college players and certainly went to win the cash.

Re: TST
Interesting seeing Boyd and Eagles play. If Eagles had had Boyd's stamina and physicality he'd have had a top half PL career. Incredible really how he fell away, always liked him.Stevebfc40 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 3:56 pmSorry if already mentioned (couldn't be bothered to look through 260+ posts) but George Boyd is playing for Wrexham again in this competition.

Re: TST
Funny that, I always thought that if Boyd would have a bit more athleticism (namely pace) he'd have been playing in the PL his entire career! Unreal work rate, great passer of the ball and very skilful.spt_claret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 7:48 pmInteresting seeing Boyd and Eagles play. Re: TST
Id probably agree, if he'd had pace he'd have been a top player. He was much more a flair player at Peterborough than us. Either way you slice it you combine the two and you get a great winger with the best head of hair in footballCoolClaret wrote: ↑Fri Jun 07, 2024 8:40 pmFunny that, I always thought that if Boyd would have a bit more athleticism (namely pace) he'd have been playing in the PL his entire career! Ive watched a few games now and at first was wondering what the point of the Target score was, but it does add an extra elementArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 12:20 amFirst TST game I've watched. Gotta say I got into that towards the end. Good watch.

Re: TST
That’s also the first one I’ve really got in to. Thought we were quite unlucky. Hit the bar in the first half, posting the second, then were the sub wearing her bib we would’ve been through on goal with a chance to make it 5-4.ArmchairDetective wrote: ↑Sun Jun 09, 2024 12:20 amFirst TST game I've watched. Good format. The TST and reducing players keeps it interesting.
Overall I thought both the men’s and the women’s team hit it long too often and also we seemed to play like there were offsides when there wasn’t

Hope we go back next year.
