Sometimes I just don’t know why they don’t just switch it up a bit and stop passing it about to keep the ball and just get to the line and drill it across

Re: Euro 2024
Spot on - he absolutely does not know how to put a team together . 3 players out of position - a striker that doesnt press but you want the team to press- that link will let you down. Foden and Kane - i dont think can play together .. TAA. - gives you nothing and in truth for so many individual stellar players. no leaders on the pitch. Southgate has learnt nothing in 6 yearsColburn_Claret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 6:00 pmSaid it many times, great players, crap team.
Southgate hasn't a clue. You can't fix a problem when you are the only person who can't see you've got one.
The most galling thing is all these pundits pulling us apart, but all frightened to lay the blame at the right door.

Trippier just had a crossing opportunity with 3 or 4 men in the box but as he is on the wrong side he checks backRick_Muller wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 6:10 pmSometimes I just don’t know why they don’t just switch it up a bit and stop passing it about to keep the ball and just get to the line and drill it across

Re: Euro 2024
Every now and again we hear ‘i think I’d leave it to the professionals, they know more than some guy on the internet’ when we get critical of a manager.
But the fact Southgate took until the 2nd half of our second game to see what most people already knew, ie that you can’t suddenly drop a RB into centre midfield in a big tournament makes me wonder if they really are that smart.
And not including a left back in a 26 man squad.

Not a dig but which left back would you have included in the squad? I’m presuming chilwell is injured?NottsClaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 6:21 pmEvery now and again we hear ‘i think I’d leave it to the professionals, they know more than some guy on the internet’ when we get critical of a manager.

Standing up as a manager finally and making the bold move. Subbing off the players that have been awful is a good start.

Glad he's had the minerals to take Kane off tbh - he puts in performances like this regularly against decent centrebacks, just gets taken out of the game.

Swap 3 players who don't know what they are supposed to be doing, for another 3 players who don't know what they are supposed to be doing.

A static striker vs one that will make angles and add pace and cut in behind. Perfect sub.

Re: Euro 2024
Probably having listened to the other pundits in the studio Shearer has changed his tune over Kane.
In the first half he was waxing lyrical over Kane after he scored arguing that he was critical to the team and had to be the first name on the team sheet.
Really, Watkins should be starting ahead of Kane if he is going to drop so deep.

Re: Euro 2024
Realistically Kane should be a 10 and playing with a No 9 like Watkins that would make the runs and pull the defence back thus creating the space for Kane to collect the ball but not as deep as he is in this poor systemMilltown1882 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 20, 2024 6:31 pmA static striker vs one that will make angles and add pace and cut in behind. Absolutely no reason why we can't start with Kane and Watkins. Useless is Southgate, shame he won't be going to United - would have been hilarious.

it feels like it's going to be around that number, so incredibly poor given the talent available
