Some people are so sensitive on here.

Anything hailed Traffords way has been wholly appropriate and deserved. Most of the fans have been very patient with him, but he has failed massively.

Just imagine the if Joe hart had been in traffords position making the same mistakes. He would have been slaughtered.

As has been said, Trafford was hung out to dry. I don’t why VK persisted with him for so long but he must hav3 had his reasons. The problem as I see it is that having experienced Heaton and Pope ( and to a certain extent Hart) the expectations of fans is set at that level which isn’t really fair on a young inexperienced goalkeeper.

Not where we sit………….
We sit pretty central in the lower and loads were at it. Particularly singling him out. I've told a few to shut up this season. Proper brain-dead stand

We tried to move further back, but there were not 4 together that we needed. So we've stuck with it for now. We are in hospitality for about 50% of the season so will just have to manage unless anything new becomes available.

I expect the more vocal ones from last season will not be there this year as they only appeared after promotion, and were really unhappy. so doubt they'll come again

Anyone know what Trafford tweeted last night disrespecting Burnley fans
What's that got to do with Burnley? It was a quote made by an outgoing bowler.

I'd argue that there wasn't really any abuse at games. The ironic cheers for Muric I always saw as aimed at Kompany and the decision to not select him as opposed to ridiculing Trafford.

There have been some abusive posts about him on here, but then again the same could be said for someone like Vitinho, O'Shea, Foster and others. Storm in a teacup stuff for me.

Neither goalkeeper was the reason we got relegated, major or otherwise

Yes, they might revert back to sitting in the Big Window again all day whilst matches are on at the Turf?

To be fair, if he's looking for a seat inside the Turf where there isn't someone braindead within touching distance, he's going to struggle.

Ooh dear, some multi millionaire footballer in his big Cheshire mansion might just drop in and take a look at this messageboard?
Even worse, he has to endure reading numerous posts with his name on questioning why he is still in the team and that he isn’t ready and that his manager is failing him. Oh and the odd abusive one from someone who has perhaps had a couple too many on a Saturday evening.
Perhaps you and your over sensitive chums had better reach out to James and ask him if he requires some counselling sessions for his traumatic experiences.
Get a grip.

As long as you're happy with people behaving that way, fair enough, I don't really care either way, just pointing out that some players will read online comments, I don't think it matters where they live as to how it effects them.
Did you ever make your views known to the players or staff from your seat behind the dug out?

No. Because I don’t boo or shout out abuse to players or playing staff.
If you care to trawl through my posts you will see I don’t condone anyone doing this. However, I still maintain Trafford was treated relatively well by Burnley Supporters.
The fact that he received a lot of criticism and unfortunately some if it abusive on a messageboard isn’t really representative of our proper supporter base, as many of the people who probably did it probably didn’t even attend games.
I think you and your like minded chums have simply got an agenda against people who present a balanced or differing view to yourselves and you probably live in the world of “cancel culture”.
If you could “gang up” and cancel me you probably would.
In the meantime I will keep posting on here and just live with the fact that you and several others are just waiting to jump on many of my posts with your self righteous piffle.

That sort of tone is on the way to "she was wearing short skirt she deserved it"

Why does have money or living somewhere nice mean he is fair game to abuse ? Clearly by your poor counselling comment you are one of those that thinks along the lines of how can someone be depressed they have money kind of level of thinking.

I think you're probably taking it to seriously
The original point, argued against was that certain players didn't receive abuse from Burnley supporters, when it was proved they did, it became accepted because they live in big houses and earn loads of money
I agree that it didn't happen too much at games, but it did, no more than over the years with different players though
I'm too old to know what cancelling means, you young ones know better, but please feel free to continue posting your views, just don't get offended if someone disagrees with you, we all think differently

I’m not offended. Just disappointed that you and your chums can’t see what most people can see and are sticking to your agenda that Trafford was given a really bad time by our supporter base which is simply not the case. In MY view.
Then, when I perhaps thought this thread had nearly run its course the usual suspects jump back on my case on the back of a response I made to someone claiming that a fair proportion of fans are brain dead. I know who you all are and I can live with it.

FFS, Read my posts! I have agreed he did receive some abuse but not a lot. On the whole though I think we as a supporter base have been quite patient with Trafford and understood where the problem lay. VK.
I’m leaving this thread now because I’m wasting my time repeating myself. Let’s get the new manager sorted and Trafford’s deal to Newcastle done so we can talk about something else.

If someone on here was getting over sensitive on here, I'm not sure it was me.
It really doesn't surprise me that the ones quick to criticise players, are also quick to criticise posters who try to defend any players.
Surely it's OK to have a different view without getting blasted. Didn't think my question was that challenging. Shame it was avoided, rather than answered.
Still.

Yes, there are so many articles on interested parties. Sometimes they group them all together and sometimes they take one club at a time. I think they concentrated on Newcastle because they had the added angle of 'player agreeing terms'.
Also I'm surprised that they haven't gone with the angle of Cumbrian lad to move to nearest local club, or at least mentioned the geography of the possible move.

No idea but his poor performances where a major factor in our getting relegated so he needs to keep well away from social media and any criticism of Burnley fans, who never turned on him despite some glaring errors .

Trafford is a very young goal keeper hung out to dry by Kompany
Not sure about that; looks like it's done his career very little harm whatsoever.

Newcastle apparently looking at Real Madrid goalkeeper as well as Trafford which would make Trafford third choice. Would he want to be third choice after already playing in the Premier. It could actually ruin his career if they do get the other keeper.

That’s a bit disrespectful to your fellow clarets. Where do you sit?
Jimmy Mac lower. Ok, I'll change touching distance to 'within earshot' - you can't disagree with that, surely.

Newcastle trying to get £25m for Yankuba Minteh who they signed 12 months ago for £6m, yet won't reach agreement with us for Trafford.
