You're going to have to explain that one to me. I was simply pointing out that past performance is no guarantee of future performance.
Not sure I would want either of them to be honest and to be clear I am not advocating either of the 2 - its like asking to choose between being poked in the eye or punched in the nose.

Re: Next manager
That isn't true at all.
I went to games, home and away and I encouraged the team every time I went. That's what being a supporter is.
What it isn't is just mindlessly backing the clubs every move. It's fair to offer criticism, on the whole most people were critical but prepared to give Kompany time to rectify it- which he did not.
So basically you're arguing that criticism against Kompany isn't fair after making a "few mistakes"- yet your criticism of Dyche was fine after a few miracles.
Caught in your own net of crap again.

And I wonder just how untenable Corberan’s job may now be at WBA. It certainly seems like he’s been very open to leaving this summer if reports are to be believed. It may be something and nothing but if I was a West Brom fan I wouldn’t be too enamoured with him.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2024 9:34 pmWe did do well. The figure was quoted at £20 million but it was clear Bayern were never going to pay that. The point I was making is that with the boot on the other foot we won’t be having to pay the full amount.

If your paperwork is in order and you pay the fee, it can be done in 2 days.
Maybe with Kompany that wasn't the hold up.

Sean Dyche ? The alleged new owners want a big name as opposed to a successful manager.
I enjoyed our utter dominance of VKs first season but also enjoyed Sean's pragmatic approach and our time with him.

Sean Dyche would be a shoo-in for any number of Premier League jobs if they were available and he was to leave Everton.

Parker looks a perfect fit , young (ish) ambitious , 2 champ promotions in first seasons and decent experience with a terrible Fulham prem side . Suprised he took the Brugge job but he’s experienced success and failure in a short career and will be learning .

Re: Next manager
If Bellamy becomes Burnley manager it will be by “default” not by “design” after every other avenue has been explored and failed. The first 10 pages of this thread contain less than half a dozen posts suggesting that Bellamy be a viable managerial appointment for Burnley. Compare that to the last 10 pages which contain numerous posts opting for Bellamy as the options are drying up rapidly.

Some interesting news from the Breakfast Launch yesterday, if you believe it:
- Want to trim the squad from 40 to 25/26
- wages cut by 50% due to clauses
- many players want to stop including Esteve, Cullen, O'Shea
- manager hunt a very thorough process
- some names in media true, some false
- lots of interest and managers still contacting the club, including some in current contracts with other clubs, which hasn't gone done well with the BFC after VK scenario.
- VK was approached days before Forest game

Didn't Matt Williams do an interview/podcast where he said that when signing new players, they pay for a home office rep to come to the ground and sort the work permit? Players certainly don't wait 21 days - Assignon / Esteve for recent examples.

Anyone know the reason why we are struggling to appoint his successor?
I'm thinking next season is going to disappoint a lot of our support as we struggle to replicate VK's Championship cakewalk hope I'm wrong but it's not looking good for us
