All we need now is him registering at Clitheroe golf club
Or being spotted at Aspinall arms

"Hjulmand has shown impressive adaptibility within games...."

Now that will be a novelty !!!
An impressive appointment if it goes ahead.
I think things are looking rosey once more.

Hjulmand should he able to set up a team attacking wise in the championship.

For me the most interesting thing is the way he set up against England the other day is the exact way we should of set up against some teams last season, especially away from home

That will be a nice change. We haven’t had a manager who’s been able to do that in the past 25 years

If it is Kasper it will automatically lift the mood within the squad and the supporters, giving us all renewed hope after a disaster of a season , and a depressing last 4-5 weeks

A bit of caution. From what I can see, there have been no stories in the media to substantiate this rumour. Apart from his name being requested and added to a couple of betting sites, everything else seems to have originated from here. It even took a good while after it broke, to reach twitter. It maybe that Pace has pulled another rabbit out of the hat, but for now I'm not yet convinced. That might all change this evening though.

Understand the call for caution but just to add in case someone is reading this post without trawling back through the thread; Tony has confirmed it was a name he was given as well.

Not sure how these things work but could there be an embargo or something while Denmark are still in the Euros? Either that or the fact no journos have jumped on this means it really is a load of tripe

Depressing last 40 weeks really, last 3-4 just the process of replacing the last manager with the right manager.

More exciting than depressing really to be in a position to replace vk after last season. Patience is thin these days.

Son in law is out there watching Denmark and he's heard nothing but you never know in football, who would have thought Kompany would have gone to Bayern after season we had ..

I thought he’d have your approval Tony.

I can’t claim to know a thing about him but I’ve read the article and listened to the interview posted here and he sounds a good guy.

Would be an interesting and probably very sound appointment. I’d be impressed by Pace and the Board if they made that call after Kompany, even if it’s not the type of signing I’d have made.

I think Bellamy would get us promoted. He was part of the management team that won the league with 101 points and we now have a much stronger squad.

From what I’ve heard and read he’s also very interested in the tactical side of the game.

It’s a risk if we go with him, of course, but in my mind no more so than a manager who has never been in the Championship (or English football for that matter) and has been managing at international level - a completely different beast - most recently.

All of the managers were linked with are a risk in some way or other, Bellamy probably the least risky in my view. Not to say he’d be the most successful.

He was a coach in that squad and make no mistake, all the decisions were made by the manager. I believe when Bellamy tried to have any input, the relationship with Kompany was ending. Bellamy hasn't ever been a manager and we've seen so many examples of coaches stepping up and failing quickly. Do you think we have a stronger squad? We have a bigger squad but it proved to be a seriously failing squad having lost its best players from the promotion.

Reads as a pretty sensible comment to me. The biggest risk is surely someone who has never managed at all.

During his 9 months as Mainz manager he had poor performances during his tenure facing relegation and inconsistent results.

Question mark over his record at FC Mainz though, where he won just 5 of his 24 games in charge before being sacked after just nine months.

I cannot see the the merits of Bellamy getting the job.Short term -yes, but long term ?? Opinions on him over the past 5 weeks have been extremely divided. The pressure on the new manager getting us back up in the first year will be immense-do we really want to transform this pressure on to CB's shoulders, when we know in the past few years he has struggled with his own life, and I understand too been bankrupt, following bad advice from colleagues. Plus as has been mentioned no management experience at all. How will he react if and when the crowd turn on him. Imagine if Kasper is to be the one-he has managed at both club and international level, and has the pressure of the Denmark national team on his shoulders. Yes we have heard some of the players like CB, but have we not had a season of GOOD COP, BAD COP, with CB being the good guy, and VK very much the bad one, that froze out a number of players to the extent they could not wait to move on.

- randomly appeared on betting list from nowhere
- CT then said he’d been told this name recently
- Nixon said ‘that’s a possible’ when asked about him
- random new twitter account with no other posts 6 days ago requested for odds on him to join
- there had been speculation by Sacha there was another foreign but unknown name in the running

Other than that nothing and bit of speculation that it could be what’s caused a delay, given he’s still tied up.

Personally find it hard to understand how we’d run interviews with him during the Euros and that’s where this one falls down for me.

It’s crazy how when the odds drop on a manager people don’t want it’s just ‘someone has lumped on and the bookies know nothing’

When it’s a manager people are interested in that the odds drop for them it’s ’there’s something in this’

Out of the managers on sky bet my top 5 would be

1. Tudor
2. Corberan
3. Hjulmand
4. OGS
5. Parker

He wasn’t appearing on any betting apps when I was given his name. I know I was given it second hand but I know the source and it’s someone I’d trust. That doesn’t mean he’s going to be our new manager but I do believe there must be something in it.

I agree that he was likely a coach. Kompany seemed to command and control things. Interesting that he tried to have an input, likely when things were going wrong. That does suggest to me he has some leadership qualities - ie willing to step up and voice opinions when things aren’t working.

I also agree that the transition from coach to manager has gone badly wrong before. Plenty of examples. I think for balance though there have also been plenty of examples of foreign managers doing the same, for example, or good international managers failing at club level.

They’re just different risks, but my point about Bellamy being lower risk is he knows the club, the owners, is settled in the country, has worked with the players for two years and knows the system well that got us 101 points in this league last time. I just think those factors are positives for Bellamy.

On squad, I honestly don’t see any argument that we’re not a lot stronger.

- Trafford > BPF.
- O’Shea > THB. Faster. Better in the air. Stronger. I think THB will get found out in the Premier League.
- Esteve > Beyer in my opinion. Although we obviously still have him.
- Berge > any midfielder we had in the Championship season and arguably the Premier League for our many seasons there.
- Koleosho & Oddobert > Zaroury & Benson, although still have them too.
- Foster now has 18 months experience at the club and English football.
- Ramsey hard to know but I’d say > Twine who we relied a lot on last time. Certainly more influential at Boro than Twine has been at us/Hull/Bristol.
- On top of that you have Zeki, a Swiss international forward and Tresor, a Belgian player of the year who was most disappointing but very obviously some talent in there to shape. And Massengo who had a decent half season in league un before joining us by all accounts.

The big loss for me is Maatsen. We’ve needed a LB for a long while and I’d agree we are weaker there whoever we sign this year as they’ll not be better than Maatsen or have Charlie’s experience (not that Charlie played at LB in the Championship anyway).

I’m not overly convinced Tella would’ve made it in the premier league and hard to know since he was largely a sub in the Bundesliga.

We’ll miss the experience of Barnes, Cork and JBG but overall I think the above areas of strengthening outweigh that.
