Brilliant for us after a poor start in the championship, treated harshly by Kompany but that said he wants to go so then it's a bidding war, however if there is little interest you either take what you can or have a very unhappy player.

Wish him well and it makes sense for all. As for the fee, he’s only worth what someone will pay for him

Do we sell Trafford also and start a total fresh in this department
I hope so, fed up of the toxic Muric v JT debate. If we can get a good price for both, then get them chopped and start fresh with a clear No. 1 & No. 2

Sad to see Muric go

Trafford to go too I suspect unless Parker can be persuade him to stay, with probably being first choice, which he wouldn't get in the prem

Money might be on the low side a bit, but we can hopefully wave to him as we pass him on the way up as the Tractors will more than likely return to the Championship. ;)

Fantastic news, never a PL goalkeeper, complete loose cannon. I’m surprised the fee is so high given his obvious limitations.

Not too bothered who goes, stays or comes in but I am looking forward to getting the squad down to about 25 players that SP wants and can manage to create a cohesive team.

Excellent distribution and a decent shot stopper.

Tempered with the fact that he's an absolute lunatic and is prone to catastrophic lapses of concentration that can and have cost us games.

We loved him because he fit the style we played perfectly and he was good fun but I won't forget that for 30/40% of his time here there were people literally watching him with their hands covering their eyes

10m rising to 15m sounds a fair price. We've quadrupled our money, had some great times with him and there is not a cat in hells he's gonna play at much higher level than that.

All the best Aro, sorry you got treated the way you did.

I'm not bothered about ex players, but Muric is a bit of a legend to me

Great keeper in the Championship but after his nightclub stunt always second choice for VK
Down in Championship next year along with Ipswich.

In my opinion overrated by too many on this forum. I’m not expecting Parker to be playing the same way as Kompany so Muric would be pretty much redundant if I’m right , plus no more of his absolute howlers that cost us so much at a vital time last season.
If the figure I’m seeing of his buying price is right we are making a tidy profit after the slice due to City.
Now if we can do this with one or two more Kompany signings we will be moving forward

By the way, another thing to consider is this that to my mind is possibly the first player to bear fruit of this whole moneyball approach.

I hope VK leaving hasn't severed whatever relationship we might have built with City because with Muric, and the interest we've had in Trafford suggests to me that there is a very valid and viable income stream taking in their 'almost, but not quite' cohort.

Maybe that’s why they’re selling him for a large profit when he’s refusing to come to work. Some on here would sell Trafford and barely break even and think the board had done something good.

I really hope you're right, and then a few more after that.

We need the squad size reducing because it's ridiculous right now.

We do, so long as it's quantity being reduced and not quality.

I thought you might have also, mine comes from someone that is part of the staff at Burnley, and before anybody asks I'm not naming them, you come across like you're the only person In the world that gets told anything that's going on at the club and everyone else is making it up, you're in the dark like 99% like the rest of us
You haven't even said what your inside information is so how can anyone quantify how reliable it is? Or are you waiting for it to be disclosed and then say, "that is what I was told"?

Well yeah, I think the idea was supposed to be that but think we forgot the key ingredient which is selling at the peak of their value.

Muric, Benson, Zaroury and one or two others should have gone at the start of last season for example.

Probably the best move for all.

Get a decent fee for us and he probably gets a chance to start in the premier league as a number 1 keeper.

My point was more that this approach is nothing like Moneyball, our previous ownership’s transfer model was much more similar to Moneyball.

It’s either £8 million rising to £10 million

Or

It’s £15 million

Depends who you believe

It’s interesting to see people say it’s not enough either way after watching the same people undervalue Trafford
I think I believe the EA Times. 8 up to 10.

If so, we have been taken for mugs!

Muric’s distribution skills have also been over-lauded in my opinion. There’s no doubt that Muric has the ability to find incredible passes, but as we saw last season, when put under pressure and with a quicker opposition cutting out passing angles and options his distribution was notably average for the Premier League. Being able to play a 30 yard dink with the outside of the boot is great but not when you try it 5 times and it goes out of play 4 times.

Scott Arfield is Moneyball. George Boyd is Moneyball. Even Tom Heaton is Moneyball. Signing players to sell for a profit is....Football.
