Wrongly sent off at Chelsea, it was at Spurs when his copybook was blotted.

Unpopular opinion, but I still think the Spurs one was potentially a pen from one angle where Son clipped him. The main camera angles made bad viewing for him but there was one a few frames earlier that did look like he was caught.

His play acting was embarrassing but I don’t think you can hold too much against a player for trying to win a penalty in such an important game… and given the series of awful decisions given against us last year it was obvious he needed to lay it on thick to stand any chance of a proper review and fair decision.

The more concerning thing for me was how he would go down like he’d been shot when we were defending. But I’d still take him back in a heartbeat.

I think you absolutely can hold it against him, he was an absolute disgrace to the club that day. Glad he's long gone, wasn’t even that good a player, but there's zero excuse for his crap attempt at cheating.

Early in the season when giving goals away in the Championship on the counter Kompany called on the team to stop this and this resulted in Cork collecting a few yellows, if refs did their jobs properly Man City would have 5 or 6 players booked every game but they are clever at doing it.

If we are to lose (or let go) Trafford on top of the transfer of Muric then this is the perfect type of signing. He has worked his way up through the divisions while on loan from Brighton and was excellent at Swansea, he appears from the outside to have the style of play suited to our squad and is an excellent age for the ALK model.

All. correct - which is why Ipswich switched their attention to Muric

Brighton also want/expect guaranteed game time for Rushworth - which in turn complicated our move for Hladky - which was close apparently but cooled when the opportunity to return to Czechia arose in the latter stages of negotiation

Ipswich were surprised Hladky turned down their offer of a two year deal - don't think his agent is winning him many friends

Updated…I’ve found my stats upto the end of April that season. I didn’t finish them but Cork comes out on top easily….having played few games (obviously, as he wasn’t first choice and having often been thrown in for games against Liverpool and Man City, to give the regular starters a rest, only to be dropped a week later.

Agree, I don’t think Assignon was very good at all. Couple of flashes of brilliance going forward but very little end product and rash defensively.

He's younger than Alexander was when we signed him I think and he's a far better player. No insult to Alexander, Cork just has quality so far above anything else in the division I think he could sit infront of the back 4 until he's 40 if he wanted to.

I love Jack Cork, but I'm not convinced he's youthful enough for a promotion push and we don't really need anymore squad players.

Parker may well see it differently though, I'd have him in for preseason and take a look at him first.

If we end up selling Berge and Brownhill, I'd argue an experienced squad player is exactly what we need. Then all we need is another starting CM to go with Cullen as we'd have the experience of Cork and see what Massengo can do.

Carl Rushworth signed for Brighton & Hove Albion from Halifax Town in January 2019.

The goalkeeper made six appearances in the Premier League South for Albion’s under-18s during the 2018/19 campaign, helping the team finish in fifth place after ending the season with five consecutive victories.

Rushworth moved up to join Albion’s under-23s ahead of the 2019/20 Premier League 2 campaign, providing added competition between the sticks.

The keeper spent the 2021/22 season on loan with League Two Walsall, where he kept 11 clean sheets in 43 league appearances.

Carl impressed during his time with the Saddlers, winning the Players' Player and Supporters' Young Player of the Season.

He signed a new contract with us in January 2022, that runs until June 2025.

Agreed Spice-a coaching role could be very interesting as Jack is a scholar of the game and has a nice nature, and could provide continuity and inside knowledge for Parker. A player-definitely no . We already have over a dozen or so players to move out. The fact Jack has not been able to find another club since VK left is confirmation for me that his playing days are well behind him, and what a playing career he has enjoyed

I read yesterday that he signed a new contract before going to Swansea on loan but that may be incorrect.

He’s 23! He’s at a point in his career where he needs to be thinking of cementing a number 1 spot down somewhere. If he doesn’t think he can get ahead of Steele or Verbuggen, then I can’t see why he wouldn’t move. Born in Halifax too so localish lad.

Cork was doing his coaching badges (as was Barnes) a while ago. Perhaps a player-coach job wouldn't be a bad idea.

I believe Jack and his family are settled in the area and his heart is in our club. I have a feeling he could make a very good coach for us, but my fear is if he is still going to be registered as a player too, it puts pressure on our squad size, and we have yet to see much movement in moving on so many fringe players that will get no where need the starting match squads

He went on holiday with Esteve so there’s maybe that factor.

I agree about Sambo but I was told we were confident on Assignon after we’d signed him. Obviously it was missplaced confidence.

Personally think he’d be a huge signing for us, particularly if the rumoured outgoings are true, so hope we can convince him but I imagine the chances are zero if Roma are in for him.
