It's disappointing Amdouni has not returned he's having a longer holiday than an MP

Why’s it disappointing? Unless he’s just not turned up it will be an agreed time frame with the clubWoodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 12:08 pmIt's disappointing Amdouni has not returned he's having a longer holiday than an MP

Imo it seems reasonable for him to be back it's weeks since Switzerland got knocked out.

I think when international football ends on TV is not necessarily when it ends for the players - i.e. they don’t necessarily leave camp the next day with some period of final training/tournament evaluation and travelling home together before being released.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 12:55 pmImo it seems reasonable for him to be back it's weeks since Switzerland got knocked out.
I think it’s important for players to have 3-4 weeks off after a n intense season and in his case lots of international football. He probably hasn’t had a weekend off football for 12 months.
But he posted on Instagram last night with the photo’s of his summer holidays, so hopefully that’s a sign he’s gearing up to rejoin the team in Spain.

Can’t believe the club hasn’t agreed Amdouni’s return date with you?

Generally speaking they get paid that much money they can't afford extra time off unlike most of the working population that need to get back or have to rein in the finances whilst away. It's no surprise to me, it's more of a surprise that most seem to get back when they are supposed to & don't take extended holidays.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 12:55 pmImo it seems reasonable for him to be back it's weeks since Switzerland got knocked out.

Agreed about the Tresor loan. Makes sense but it’s bizarre to spend that much to loan him out straight away. Complete shambles.

It is what it is re: Tresor if he doesn't want to stay. It doesn't mention loan so we could still get our money back on him. Time will tell.

Well, aye, but we were committed to buying him long before we did. It’s not as if we took the decision to buy him last week and then decided to loan him out.
It’s been a poor deal though, i agree.

Loan is the worst outcome isn’t it really. Kompany’s worst signing by far.

They either try and sell him now for far less than we’ve just paid or they keep hold of him in the hope that a loan boots his value and try and sell him next summer.
I think in the current circumstances a loan is the best outcome.

The best way to boost his value is to be part of a team that p1sses the championship.

Agree. Can see him going on loan somewhere, not pulling any trees up then we're in the same situation next summer with a year less on his contract. If we could recoup a decent amount for him I'd be selling and taking the risk he isn't going to suddenly rocket in value down the line.

We might be lucky and get our money back, arsenal are getting over 30m for ESR who hasn’t played for 12 months and has a shocking injury record
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I think people are forgetting there’s loan fees, I’d be surprised if we didn’t recoup close to our transfer fee on Weghorst from his various loans. For example it was reported United paid £2m fee to loan him.NickBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 4:57 pmAgree. Think United paid a £2.6m loan fee to us but we had the vast majority of that to pay to Beskitas.
Not really sure how overall we come out of the Wout deal - I think as you say the loan fees can be pretty significant but not sure how far they go in covering the transfer fee, plus the agents fees, plus Wout’s signing on fee etc. I’d imagine we still end up a few million down for a player who will hardly kick a ball for us over his 4 year contract.
Problem with Tresor is that we paid a lot more for him than Wout and I doubt whether he is worth anywhere as much in terms of loan fees given his previous experience and track record compared to WW.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Fab reporting West Ham have agreed terms with Summerville from Leeds, just need a fee agreed between clubs.
Good news for us if this goes through.

ESR is two classes above anything we’ve seen in our midfield for many seasons. How bad is his ‘shocking injury record’ ?123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 5:04 pmWe might be lucky and get our money back, arsenal are getting over 30m for ESR who hasn’t played for 12 months and has a shocking injury record

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
The point was over 30m for someone who hasnt really played for 12 months
TOTAL
Season
Injuries
Games missed
23/24 10
22/23 21
20/21 30
19/20 36
18/19 35
I would the above amount of games missed due to injuries isn’t good for someone who has only just turned 24

Archie Gray one of their best two players? I think he’s been extremely over valued because he’s home grown and family have all played for Leedsclaretskeith wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 6:19 pmYes, very good news. That'll be arguably their 2 best players gone.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
West Brom selling Thomas-Asante, Townsend and Yokuslu for barely £4M.
Devante Cole coming in on a free to replace Thomas-Asante.
Doesn’t suggest they’ll be a force next season.

Goodness knows what their fans must be thinking.
They thought they were rescued and ready to be a force again under the new owners.
Devante Cole, confirmed, deary me. a decent standard L2 player for most of his career but utter dross for a club of Albion's stature and aspirations, what on earths happening there.

Even if there is any truth in that sketchy report I cannot see any of the bigger teams in those countries being interested in Tresor and I can’t see many of the smaller teams being able to afford him.
As for ‘most on here’ thinking he is crap then we can only go off what we saw on the pitch for Burnley. Does not mean he is a crap player just that he has been poor for Burnley.

He’s definitely not a crap player. You don’t deliver the numbers he did in Belgium if you’re crap. We just didn’t get the best out of him and/or the pace and physicality of the premier league (which is unrivaled in other leagues) was a step too much for him.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 7:30 pmAye - real quality website that.

I’d like to see him raise his value with us in the Championship but don’t see a natural place for him without outgoings - players I’d much rather keep - so a sale at break even thereabouts or a loan with loan fee would also be fine with me.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
The website is quoting HLN reporter Bob Faesen on this who was the one who reported Tresor to us in the first place, so it can be considered very reliable.

Charlie Austin going to QPR and Dyche bringing Heaton Arfield and Jones in on frees with Kightly on loan
They will be in a relegation scrap for sure

There will have been loan fees from Besiktas, Manchester United and Hoffenheim. I’m sure Besiktas will have had to be compensated to a certain level but there’s no way that Burnley football club, as a business, would sanction a deal just for the romance of it.Big Vinny K wrote: ↑Wed Jul 31, 2024 5:47 pmThink United paid a £2.6m loan fee to us but we had the vast majority of that to pay to Beskitas.

I think if we can somehow manage to get €5-6m for Weghorst (which I think is realistic) then this is not a bad result.
