Jadon Philogene?
I just don't rate him.
End product is dreadful

Villa just paid £14m for him and he came off the bench yesterday, no chance imo.
Most of the wingers mentioned either played or were on the bench. I was merely throwing another name out there that is currently with a PL side and has recent championship experience.

Fair enough. All about opinions. But he got re-signed by Villa and Ipswich were mad keen on him (amongst other clubs) which suggests he has a bit to offer.

If we can get something silly like £8-12m for Vitinho then we’d be crazy to turn that down. Great profit and we are well stocked at right full back and on the wing. And if selling him helps to keep some of our key core players then it’s a no brainer.

Philogene was one of the best players in the division last season. Got in the team of the year and had 3/4 PL clubs after him.

From what I can see the only realistic options are Sarmiento, Bowler, Anthony or Brooks. The latter is not expected to be fit until October though.

Had Ipswich not been promoted they had spoken to Brighton about bringing Sarmiento back on loan and apparently there was an informal agreement in place - which suggests he would be available for a Championship loan

You'd assume Brighton would prefer a top-end club where he is likely to get decent game time

If this thread is now also for naming players who haven't been linked to us - not even the most tenuous of rumours - then I'd randomly say Morgan Whittaker.

He’s not a PL winger. Longsideclaret suggested a PL winger with recent experience of the Champ. So we’ve been speculating who that could be.

I noticed that Nixon is linking a Newcastle keeper is on the way out.

Potentially this is why Trafford was sick yesterday?

Mejbri is central midfielder .

David Brooks was in the back of my mind this morning but didn’t know he was injured again. He was superb before his major set back I really liked him.

Doesn't fit LongsideClarets description but if we were taking a winger from a Championship Club then Rowe at Norwich would be a great signing- looks to have a very big future ahead of him.

They didn’t say championship, they said premier league with recent championship experience

I think Longsideclaret is referring to Crysencio Summerville who would be a great replacement for Odobert. Moved from Leeds to West Ham and hasn’t pulled up any trees yet.

Still sounds a fair way off our asking price. They are obviously trying to unsettle Sander so that we accept a lower fee.

Pace needs to remember our midfield was dominated a bit too easily by a poor Cardiff team on Saturday.

Does anyone else still think we need another centre midfielder regardless of sander Berge leaving, right now our only options are brownhill Cullen Massengo and then JBG can play there. You then add Berge. But it’s a long season and you have injuries and suspensions to factor in, for me we need another central player without losing anyone.

We have 8 cbs but only 4 fit
We have 5 strikers in a 1 up front system
13 players to take up 3 positions

His legs had gone mid way through our previous championship campaign. Yellow card every game cos he couldn’t keep up the pace with others. We need to move on.

But on the other hand, an incredible professional who our very young squad could continue to learn from.

The longer the summer goes on and he doesn't get sorted elsewhere, the more I could see him coming back in a player/coach capacity. In his leaving interview it was clear that he loved the club and wanted to come back in some capacity in the future.

I know it's something RV has continually brought up, but it wasn't until I saw the teamsheet on Saturday I realised that the home-grown status is a genuine issue. It's probably the only reason that Egan-Riley made the bench. Having Cork in and around the squad could come in handy, it's just whether he is comfortable putting his playing career on the back burner, (Duff made a similarly difficult decision) or whether he wants to continue playing as long as possible.

In my eyes, it was the best part of 45 which the possession stats at 60/40 tend to support alongside Parker’s post match interviews.

If we sold Berge and didn’t replace him , we would have no where near enough quality and quantity in midfield. Remember the season Marney got injured just after the transfer window closed?

At least when we sold Odebert we had replacements, if we sell
Berge we will have to factor in the money we need to pay for an inferior player to make up the numbers.

Like us all, surprised how we struggled in the middle of the pitch against Cardiff, allow that to happen on Saturday and I doubt we will be as lucky.

I think we need to chill about Berge going to United-there have been so many rumours about our players going in the last two to three months as evidenced by the length of this Summer 2024 Transfer Window post. He is a great player for us-but really, is he up to a top four or five premier side??.Where will he fit in to the United side with so much depth to their squad ??. If he was in so much demand why has a mid table PL side not gone for him, or even one of the promoted three
