Sorry what is this ‘biggish hit’? We’ve already rejected a bid offering the same amount we bought him for? All reports suggest we are asking for £25-30m. I hope he stays.

Can't see people wanting to shell big money for Traff, but who knows. Likewise Amdouni - how on earth do we value him at 18m?? I know we paid a fair wedge and want to make a profit but he's done pretty much nothing really to warrant that price tag- I mean we o ly pegged 20 for Sander who was streets ahead of him

Neither atm. Play him, build up his confidence and sell him at some future date. Oh and stop zonal marking and get a Cork replacement as dcm,
someone 6 foot.

I wonder why they had a penalty overturned when the score was 0-0. Surely a perfect opportunity for the PL to help them out.AGENT_CLARET wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 7:44 amDon't worry the Premier league won't let Everton get relegated to the Championship with a brand new multi multi million pound show stadium

You can only sell if you have a buyer & are realistic about the price. I think there'll have to be an acceptance that we paid over the odds & will lose out.claretskeith wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:29 amIt wouldn't surprise me if Trafford starts tomorrow. His value is unlikely to increase if he sits on the bench all season. We have to play him. He'll be fine if the boo boys leave him alone and the rest get a song going for him. Like England's next nr 1.claretskeith wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:29 amIt wouldn't surprise me if Trafford starts tomorrow. I think we either need to sell or give him a full season.

Even Steve Cotterill never thought of this - did he? Much to our amazement he got £1.2 million for Wayne Thomas to Southampton, and even more amazingly, £50,000 from Leeds for Ian Moore. I don't think these can be bettered.CaptJohn wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 8:53 amIf the report on JBG is correct and we received 1.5M Euros then this must rank as a superb bit of business by Mr Pace.

Burnley trouser over a £1 million for their services.

You don’t uproot your family to Saudi for £16K per week. He’d easily have been on that here at Burnley.
£1.3 million for Johan is good business by the club.

Things may have changed but I assumed bringing in a 'keeper of Hladky's calibre - ever-present for Ipswich last season - we intended or maybe still intend to sell Trafford
Wouldn't be surprised to see him go to a top-end PL club as back-up and play in domestic cups and early round European fixtures - as others have said he'd also help with the home-grown quota

As poor as Amdouni was last season he will get 20 goals this season and personally I think it’s important we keep hold of him if we want to win the league.

Totally agree- with Odobert, JBG and Zaroury having all gone who would all have chipped in with a number of goals .Add to that Wout going, and I hate to say it, we all desperately hope and pray that Lyle will have no re-occurrence of the issues he has faced this past season. That of course unless Scotty has someone up his sleeve who can score. Amdouini has the skills to produce this seasons "Tella" for us

Still not convinced that O'Shea will be going anywhere. I don't think PL clubs want to pay the asking price for a basically unproven PL player. Similar with Amdouni, sounds like he's being priced out of a move. Hope the club continue to play hardball and we keep these two for the season.

Doh !
€1.5 million over a year works out at around £25K per week. Still not worth it, though.
The €1.5 million has to be a transfer fee.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
I've always been an Amdouni fan, like a lot of others he was hung out last season. His efforts for Switzerland show he is a quality player, if used right. At this level he is capable of ripping it up, so I hope we can convince him to stay, if his head has been turned, or reject the calls to sell him, as the business model has been met already.
Either way, I'd like to remind some of the many posters on here who claimed he wasn't good enough for Burnley, should never get near our first team, needs to be got rid of asap, lazy disinterested sod....
You can't have it both ways. One minute he's a waste of space, the next minute he's indispensable. You need to make your minds up and stick to it, or even, Heaven forbid, give the lad a chance before jumping on his back.

I think he can get around the Worrall decision by saying it's too early for him having not had much (if any) training with the squad. Fully expect him to start against Wolves in the cup and then who knows! Largely depends on O'Shea being sold elsewhere.warksclaret wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:37 amScotty will have several big decisions to make tomorrow, but I hope Amdouini still starts despite the gossip. I was stating that the 1.5m wont be his wages for 18 months in Saudi, it would be a lot more as hes likely already earning that here.
I don't live there but my brother in law lives in the middle east and earns more in a year than most do in 20

As I think he could be very important for us attacking-right, with Odobert gone.

Looking at the amount of player's we've lost and what sort of starting eleven and bench we still have to go with just shows how strong of a squad we have, no other team in the championship could lose that amount of player's and still be this strong and that's before we even bring in more player's

I wasn't a fan of Amdouni last season and I can't see him making it as a Premier league player despite his technical quality. But I don't think there is any point in selling him either. He will get goals in this league and if we want to sell him we can get much more money next summer for him

I wouldn't have though so. I am sure we will bring in a striker. Don't forget Houtonji (sp?) as well even though largely untried yet.

I hope so; CT's article suggests that historically Worrall's debuts have ended in 2 - 0 defeats for him, so I'd rather we lose in the cup than at Sunderland.FeedTheArf wrote: ↑Fri Aug 23, 2024 9:54 amI think he can get around the Worrall decision by saying it's too early for him having not had much (if any) training with the squad. Fully expect him to start against Wolves in the cup and then who knows! Largely depends on O'Shea being sold elsewhere.
