Players that only signed due to VK’s promises / lucrative contracts if we stayed in the prem annoying it takes so long in the window
It’s one of them we are small town why do we expect to mix with the prem, we signed international standard players it didn’t work everyone jumped ship
Ipswich had a stone wall pen against city not given why he bothered about getting up there…money we say we have generate 100mill but the players still don’t want to be here, return to a proper club and develop home grown players
Is what it is

I’m sure Romano is correct about Amdouni wanting Benfica but we won’t sell him at that price.

I think you're referring to Sunderland away and after that. If I recall correctly Barnes himself said he was rubbish at Sunderland, thought his Burnley career was over and instead it ended providing a springboard to better things. Kompany subsequently referred to the same.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 9:30 pmReminds me of Ashley Barnes 2 seasons ago.

Yes, I do recall that, but really he achieved "legendary" status for pushing Rovers' 'keeper into the net. He could do no wrong after that.taio wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 9:39 pmI think you're referring to Sunderland away and after that. We were getting battered by Sunderland last time in the Championship and we got battered by the Blades in the same season but I can’t remember fans feeling so ****** off by such an inept performance like Saturdays.

Agreed. This €4MM loan offer doesn’t benefit Burnley FC at all. As for the €12MM (or whatever it was) that they’re offering as a follow on to the loan, there’s no way that we’d take a €6MM loss on an upcoming international player.
I don’t think that some of the newer international players who’ve come in understand just what the Championship is. On the continent, many second divisions are not very good. I think it wouldn’t go amiss if SP were to sit down with these guys and explain the fact that a year in the Championship can make a man of them, both physically and mentally.
Back to Zeki, in an interview with Blick.ch a few weeks ago, he did say that he had his personal objectives (obviously to play Champions League football), but that he was under contract at Burnley and he would “play if he had to.”
I wonder where he’ll be come Saturday morning.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
If we do now stand firm against Amdouni leaving, he can't afford to sulk for long because he might lose his international place, unless he is consistently good for us in the championship. Not sure how we prevent Koleosho or others. What would he lose by sulking for too long, apart from his professional reputation? Keep these two and we won't be too far away. Then got to make sure we let Cullen, Brownhill, Esteve, Foster, Roberts and all our other players how much we value them.
Hountondji and all our other recent signings need to be given more time to settle in. The treatment of Hountondji on here and possibly at the game against Sunderland is out of order.
Whatever your thoughts on our direction of travel off the pitch, there is no excuse for taking it out on the players. Don't think they need any further demotivating.

Great re the medicals, however it depends on who is having them, they must be good enough to get us back to the Premier league and not just future money making prospects.

A like an occasional coincidental stat. Last season when we played at home to 'our near neigh-bours', we had lost our previous game and needed to beat them to go above them in the league. Same as right now.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome

I didn’t get the impression that Parker was expecting a flood of his own pick of signings through the door
So I’ll expect the new
Churlinov
Bastien
Delcroix
Obafemi
Ramsey’s cousin
Keeper that never plays so his name is irrelevant

Billing would be great and is valued at €22m by Transfmarkt (hence we won’t be getting him) but he isn’t a big goalscorer and we need one,

Good news and I think everyone just needs to calm down and let the transfer window run its course. Mr Pace is Burnley through and through and knows what he's doing so lets just leave him to get on with the business of buying and selling and trust that when the process ends next Friday we'll have a squad capable of winning the Championship titleLongsideClaret wrote: ↑Sun Aug 25, 2024 9:50 pmBelieve we’ve got multiple medicals booked over the next 24/48 hours. None us know the identity or quality of the possible additions but the timing is a slight positive. The last thing we need is to be going into Thursday/Friday still short of several signings.

I think the most likely players who be having medicals are Hannibal and Sarmiento as they were the 2 names heavily linked before the mass outgoings started. Then potentially Johnston but hopefully we have another cm and striker medical lined up to
