It's no where near enough. Can't believe we need to sell him as well as the rest. He'll be worth far more in 12 months and is the key to promotion.

I thought I read end of of last week, that Parker said Tresor will be returning to training next week, which may mean this week now, if that’s correct I am sure the club will factoring him into the finalSquad numbers.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Not that bothered about koleosho going as long as we get some decent replacements, he's quick with not much end product. I would have much rather kept odabert who has a higher ceiling IMO.
Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Please stop talking sense.
I want to remain ****** off Koleosho might leave for 10x what we paid for him.

Fee likely somewhere between the Berge and Odobert numbers. We’ve rejected the offers so far but they may come in again.

The sales and the fees we have recouped in isolation are excellent business. The timing so close to the window shutting isn't ideal but it is when the market moves the most.
The biggest issue in this is the unfortunate timing so close to the derby. I think if it wasn't for that then it wouldn't be as much of a meltdown. It is subconsciously for most and consciously for some affecting their views on what is going on.

I watched Zaroury do that, but then nothing after the world Cup, even at this levelervi34 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:44 pmYes mate, I've watched Zaroury taking players on for fun and scoring for us. I've also seen Benson scoring 4 bangers in a row, one that won us the title at Ewood Park.
I have to say I didn't personally see much of Anthony and Sarmiento, but between them, they've scored 6 goals last season in 71 games. No matter how hard you try to spin it, there's no chance they are better than what we had 2 seasons ago.
You like recognizing the team we put out? Good luck with that on Saturday. It will be a nervy derby when you have 5 debutants.
I also remember Benson goals, I also remember how frail he could be, I certainly wouldn't be putting any money on him lasting a season
I know very little about the two mentioned, but the Brighton lad has certainly performed well at this level far more recently than Benson or Zaroury

Seems like even more think that they get a dividend of the player sales or something? There's nothing to be happy about selling young players in the starting XI.

Zaroury wasn't the same after Christmas. Looked disinterested. Got dropped at Hull. 9m euros is a good return for him.
Benson was wonderful to watch even when the defender knew he was cutting inside. Didn't do much last season. He's not young and a he's a bit soft. I can understand them selling for 9m. That is very good business. (LC says it might not happen and I'd be disappointed actually).

We should hold onto Traffs until at least Jan. Right now his stock must be at its lowest point after being dropped for the last 10 games.
He's bulked up a bit since. If he can turn it around this year, we'll be able to demand the full £30m at least.

Sarmiento impressed me last year for Ipswich. I think he was mainly used as a sub but was always in or around the box when the ball came in and looked dangerous.

Did you see Zaroury (and Benson) bag two goals in the FA Cup against PL Bournemouth after the world cup in a 4-2 win?
Did you see Zaroury also play #10 away in the Cup at Spurs setting Amdouni up with a golden chance with a fantastic piece of skill?
Nah of course, not, just go along with the same b0llocks myth, rather than suggesting that maybe just maybe consistency is an issue in all young players and their treatment off our previous manager has negatively impacted both of them?

No i think it’s probably nominally servicing the debt that Alan Pace used to pay for our football club. I think to have brought in £120m (approx) and still be actively attempting to sell Trafford, Amdouni, Koleosho, Benson, McNally and others is very concerning. I’m amazed anyone doesn’t.

I'd be a lot happier if we sign a proven goalscorer. I like Foster but he isn't the answer unfortunately. With Obafemi out and Weghorst likely going we can't be relying on him and Jay. Hountodji may be the answer but he looks a bit raw at the moment.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 12:57 pmSell koleosho for 23m

Lose Odobert and Koleosho and replace with two of those? Makes me shudder.
Whilst I agree we won't replace quality for quality we surely have to go out and try and get a big player if we're losing both of those.
We'd have to go and get Rowe from Norwich or somthing to make me even close to happy.

Hope Parker uses his loans to our advantage and brings some Premier League quality in.

Re: Summer 2024 Transfer Window Discussion - Rumours and Links welcome
Fair enough but we could only sign those strong players in the 1st place because of the americans speculating and investing. We hope in the future they will further speculate and invest. Timing is very difficult but both had shown an unwillingness to be week-in and week-out performers. I didn't recoginse that in the first months.ervi34 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 1:01 pmI never said it doesn't make sense from business perspective. I'm absoluely fine with them moving on for substantial profit. Who knows, Tresor may actually turn into a player for us. Perhaps the new signings will be even better at this level and more resilient?
I've been around long enough in football to know that nobody is irreplaceable, especially players who appear to be fragile. I'm happy with the business being conducted provided they re-invest. That is kind of what ALK is set up to do. They are investors. We will be able afford much better players in the future. Perhaps in 12months. Perhaps 24 months. Perhaps this week.
No need to panic and look backwards. Change shouldn't be our enemy. It is natural.

Tbf if it wasn’t for VK ruining them and the majority of this squad you could have built a side around them lads.
Instead we decided to sign a shed load of wingers and throw the lads that got us promoted to the side.
If you can’t see this is a big reason we are in this position then I don’t know what else will.

I've not said what the reason was, just replying to someone who would prefer to stick with Benson and Zaroury. I would agree had they both continued their form from certain times in the championship season, but for whatever the reason they didn't, and that's where we are at.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 1:13 pmTbf if it wasn’t for VK ruining them and the majority of this squad you could have built a side around them lads.

Agree with this, and I presume SP is having to deal with the backlash of that and walking across scorched earth trying to get them back on side with not takers. In which case he is right to adopt the if you don't want to be here approach, and bring in players he feels will give 100%. For that to happen we need to crate the funds and taking emotion out of it, I think the figures coming in are reasonable. All that said there is a fine line on how quickly you put all that in to place and if this would have been in July giving us a month to get new players in and adapting to the SP style of play, it may not have been so bad.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Mon Aug 26, 2024 1:13 pmTbf if it wasn’t for VK ruining them and the majority of this squad you could have built a side around them lads.

I have see a lot saying keep for one more year and then sell, but if they don't want to be here what is the point in keeping them to run out every weekend and not give 100% compared to someone you can get in who will. Totally understand the frustration and I too share it, but we have a perfect storm situation, that some how we need to sail through, and we are doing that very close to the wind.
