Academy director leaving?
Re: Academy director leaving?
Talksport Hawksby and Jacob’s were reading the text/message out over the radio when I jumped in the car. It sounded quite scathing against the players.

While goalkeeper James Trafford - a £19m signing from Manchester City - and midfielders Josh Brownhill and Josh Cullen are given rave reviews, others are not so fortunate.
Winger Manuel Benson’s value has “diminished as lazy/not good attitude - they should have took that money as made a mistake keeping him”.
Belgian midfielder Mike Tresor also receives critical feedback: “Cost £14 million! And he’s not good at all - hardly played last season - lightweight and poor attitude - big waste of money”.
Defender Ameen Al-Dakhil - linked with a move to German club Stuttgart - is described as “miles off it in the Premier League and really struggled and after playing game after game got binned and never played again - too skinny and weak for England.”
And defender Luke McNally was critiqued for his “strange athletic shape” while centre back Hannes Delcroix was labelled “rubbish - just a poor player and Vinny’s signing from Belgium”.
Meanwhile forward Michael Mellon was called “lazy” while winger Darko Churlinov - currently on loan to a Polish club - was described as “a disaster - mad guy - on loan as they just need him out the place”.

Absolutely.
The only two I'm 50:50 with are Al-Dakhil and MM, but to be fair I don't watch him train day in day out so wouldn't know.

Re: Academy director leaving?
To me, this reads like an employee of BFC going through the team and giving his opinion on each one. And sending it to a mate/colleague at another club. Not too dissimilar to our own 'player ratings' threads.
How many of us have done similar at our own places of employment?
Unfortunately, the idiot sent the list to the wrong person. And nothing to do with 'a report for the Directors'.

Nobody seems to know why he was given notice and replaced with Paul Jenkins who it was very obvious to see that he wasn’t competent in the role as the club were relegated to Category 2.

Now searching for the fourth Academy Manager on ALK’s watch. Is that four in four years?

I think that’s because Connor King has stepped up to work with the new first team goalkeeping coach who the club still haven’t announced.Blondeclaret wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 4:07 pmAlso head of academy goalkeeping advertised.

Apart from providing the level of analysis that I’d expect your average junior supporter be able to provide.
What a shambles our club has become.

Re: Academy director leaving?
My opinion, and it’s only my opinion, is that the board/Pace have asked the Academy Manager to draw up the list so they can identify what to do in the transfer market in the absence of having a manager at the time.jedi_master wrote: ↑Wed Aug 28, 2024 10:21 pmI just can’t get my head around who such a document would be intended for.
Edit- and the fact he has resigned instead of being sacked.

Our board aren’t football men, and we had 40 players. It wouldn’t be huge surprise if they didn’t even know some of their names, let alone their price and when they signed.

Re: Academy director leaving?
Biggest surprise for me is that we actually employ and pay someone to provide an analysis of players which any one of us could have done a better job on.
It’s so amateurish and basic it looks like a prank….unfortunately for us it’s not.
It’s difficult to remember a time when the wheels have fallen off so quickly. Yes we have had some terrible times in the last few decades but many of them were a slow death / gradual decline over many years of negligence, poor management and lack of investment.
This one has just come out of the blue in terms of the extent and scale of carnage. It seems impossible to understand the end goal or why they have taken such drastic action. Of course it’s likely we have a hole in our finances but there has to be more too it than that and there is a chasm between the owners and the fans.
Re: Academy director leaving?
They’re supposedly money men….. They should be all over the numbers.
If you were going to ask someone, why the Academy Manager? Doesn’t stack up for me.
