Sack him now
The football is abysmal. Absolutely shambolic.

Haha at the OP!!
Clearly not a shambles, is it.
Frustrating, yes. Who would you play to score the goals? Perhaps he realises that. Perhaps, we're better off not losing by chasing a goal that nobody is really capable of scoring.

Re: Sack him now
I actually agree. The football is terrible, square pegs in round holes. Yes we have a long injury list, yes we are still 2nd, but this staying in games for 80 mins and then deciding to throw on strikers is shocking management. I know we shouldn't feel entitled but we should be destroying teams like this. Flemming up front when he isn't a striker and 2 on the bench, at least play players in their right position

It is like England, play players that are favourites and just shoe horn them in even if it's in the wrong position
Re: Sack him now
We need to get rid of Foster Jay Rod and Houdini in January.
We need at least 2 new strikers

Re: Sack him now
If we don't play them we aren't going to see are we. You only have to look at the Championship every year and the likes of Jutkiewiecz and many other mid 30 yr old strikers that still bang them in, I am not saying Jay Rod is the player he was, but he is better than a Flemming that isn't an out and out striker. Hountandji, how de we know what he is capable of without giving him a run, by doing that it allows Flemming to play where he should be, instead we are set up so that we can play three midfielders which just constantly are squeezed by these teams happy to get a point.

Re: Sack him now
Why did Jay get a contract if he can't play anymore. He is literally a pointless player to have at the club.

I said before we appointed him that he wouldn’t have been in my top 100 candidates.
I’m afraid he still wouldn’t be.

Re: Sack him now
It’s very poor to watch. Can’t knock being 2nd though. Got to wait and see where we are at the end of the season. If he doesn’t get us promoted though, then I think there’s a big decision to make.

When did Jayrod last score? Have you watched him play? Today? He might never score again at this level.Cleveleys_claret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:05 pmIf we don't play them we aren't going to see are we. I love him. I htink he gives us a lot of experience. He can help defend from the front. He is not a goal threat any more.

It's boring and I think for the first time since I started watching there isn't a reason for it to be boring. This is Parkerball.

ok, lets play the game - and replace him with who ?
Re: Sack him now
Thought they played a bit better today tbh, just no killer instinct
Re: Sack him now
This is definitely a fan who has really only watched us in the Premier League isn’t it? The style over substance brigade are out in force. We’re a solid side and we have lots of top players out injured. We’re doing bloody well to be sat where we are.

He got promoted with the best two squads in the league.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:12 pmHe had the best record and was the outstanding candidate.
At the start of the season we probably had the strongest squad.
If the fire sale was expected (which all the noises coming out of the club suggested it was) then would he still be considered the right person and outstanding candidate? He was also utterly dreadful in his last position.

No, not having that. He might have got Fulham and Bournemouth promoted but beyond that there was nothing.LincsWoldsClaret wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2024 5:12 pmHe had the best record and was the outstanding candidate.
He might have spoken well but you only have to dip into his managerial career to know that it is massively incomplete?
Re: Sack him now
Enjoyed the performance today, first half was excellent aside from last ditch QPR defending and several half chances missed. Missing a match winner or two at the moment, a spark for some creativity (JBG) or magic from Benson. Jay Rod and Hountondji offered nothing unfortunately.

Re: Sack him now
OP is obviously silly and on the wind up, but it really is heavy going and essentially confirms what we heard from the other fanbases of the teams he's managed. Those who think we're in second or third gear I fear are in for a shock as the season goes on.

We’re almost comically boring to watch. But that’s Parker’s thing, surely we knew that? It’s not waiting to gel, or to get players back.. this is him, consistently.

Re: Sack him now
Absolute bllx that. I would rather we stayed down and played progressive football. could not give a monkeys about promotion but as I said on the "Zzzzzz" thread this is not good to watch. Still think SP will get us promoted but it's dire football.
Re: Sack him now
I certainly don’t think we should be considering sacking him. We’ve had enough turnover and need to get back to stability - from where we have achieved the majority of our successes.
What we need is to start seeing signs of improvement and if we are honest, there haven’t been many such signs, so far.
Everything we do is at far too slow a pace. We’re not creating anywhere near enough, despite plenty of possession. The wingers are OK though not causing many problems or creating enough, but for me, the biggest issue remains a lack of quality in the middle.
We have no one able to operate in tight spaces or with the ability to find space. Today and Wednesday, we looked better when we’ve gone with two up top.
Quite why we isolated Flemming again today, I’m not sure. It sort of shows how difficult it’s been for Foster, the way we are setting up.
Half decent signings that many of the players we brought in might be, I can’t quite see how they fit in and in to what system. Parker has a lot of work to do, if we want to be anywhere near the running, come May.
On a positive, we are pretty solid defensively, but bloody hell we are a frustrating and at times, dull watch.

Re: Sack him now
It was a statement saying they offered nothing. In comparison, Benson or JBG would come on in a game like that under Kompany (we had the exact same performances) and win the game. No match winners for that type of game today.
Re: Sack him now
The football has been dull so far, there's no sugar-coating it. Considering the injuries and squad turnover, I think SP has done a good job. It will be interesting to see if he can find a way to improve things in an attacking sense, but I think we'll be around the Play-Offs by the end of the season. Whether that’s considered a success or not is up to Pace and ALK (though I doubt they will see it that way).
