And we're not
Other than that, great post

I think he will play that team if they are both fit. The cracks are that we have no decent striker.OakSmokedClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:16 pmThat’s the point, Parker will never play that team. I hope I’m wrong.
We got lucky with a penalty, it just papers over pretty obvious cracks.
It was a pen alright, but with no VAR it might not have been given. Have seen more blatant pens not given in my lifetimeTricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:18 pmNothing will make up for WBA and it was a pen, not an error.
Sarmiento was, apparently, recalled from West Brom last season because they weren't playing him as a number 10, and both he and Brighton weren't happy about it.Tricky Trevor wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:25 pmFinally Humphries played like a FB and he looked so much better.
Egan-Riley is imperious at the back.
The Koleosho, Anthony, Sarmiento triumvirate has to be sorted. Sarmiento is a wide right so start him there. Koleosho is our best left and Anthony shows flashes of being a player so put him in the hole until January or bring Hannibal back in there.
Yet again our back 5 are superb, Midfield is adequate but attackers are way of the level required. We all know it has been forced on SP by circumstances so give him some slack until February.
My biggest regret is letting Obafemi out on loan not knowing what was to follow.
I’d recall Costelloe before I played Agyei again, he is way off at the moment.
Happy with the 3 points.
Oh I don't know. There were a few sat behind me. On the players backs from the first minute. Koleosho and Anthony were their targets. If they passed back or sideways they got grief, if they tried to take a player on and didn't get passed their man, they got grief.
I’d heard 10 was his preferred position but hadn’t heard that.
So who would replace them?dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:38 pmI wouldn’t be overly bothered if I didn’t see Anthony or Sarmiento again.
There’s a reason they’re out on loan.
I thought Sarmiento looked promising and I'm looking forward to seeing him play more.dougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:38 pmI wouldn’t be overly bothered if I didn’t see Anthony or Sarmiento again.

I missed todays game to do something with my family instead and only caught the last 5mins on the radio driving home. But Steve Thompson was critical of Parker for not playing 2 up and or changing formations, just rinse and repeating the 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 each week. It’s baffling to many and why i dont believe a new striker solves anything, we don’t have anywhere near enough to buy one who could score goals in this team playing like Parker ball.xxmunkyennuixx wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:28 pmWe need to get two up top, Flemming and one other. Swap Cullen for Hannibal. Sick of the backwards ****. The walking pace football needs to get in the ******* bin.
You are seriously having a laugh about Agyei, right?123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:48 pmAgeyi looked more of a winger then both Anthony and koleosho today, might be worth giving him the start we we don’t get players back fit.
Hannibal came on and got us up the pitch so much quicker
I agree about Hannibal123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:48 pmAgeyi looked more of a winger then both Anthony and koleosho today, might be worth giving him the start we we don’t get players back fit.

Asked once, but you didn't replydougcollins wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:43 pmFor a start, we need to play Fleming as a 10.
Put in whatever striker is available.
Pick any winger for Anthony. He has no desire, a long time since I’ve seen a Claret jump out of so many challenges.
Only time I've felt that was leeds away, and we won!Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:07 pmTo say our footballs so bad, I'm amazed I've not seen what I would consider a better side yet this season....![]()
Koleosho doesn’t look like a footballer at all, literally runs in a straight line, can pass the ball, can’t cross the ball.
I think it has more to do with the tempo we play at. I thought we played well today but it is boring to watch. We had a higher tempo on Thursday and it was much better to watch. The higher the tempo the more you can move people round so find more spaces. We seem to allow the opposition time to get into shape.Burnley1989 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:07 pmTo say our footballs so bad, I'm amazed I've not seen what I would consider a better side yet this season....![]()
I honestly cannot think of one good thing Ageyi has done, whereas the other two have actually won us games this season.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:15 pmKoleosho doesn’t look like a footballer at all, literally runs in a straight line, can pass the ball, can’t cross the ball.
Anthony doesn’t like like he’s ever in control of what he’s doing.
Ageyi is raw but looks miles more composed and have more natural technical ability
The tempo was generally pretty decent today I felt. Mixed passing ranges. Certainly much faster than 5 games ago for example.Commy wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:17 pmI think it has more to do with the tempo we play at. I thought we played well today but it is boring to watch. We don’t play forward balls even when one is onGetIntoEm wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 5:56 pmWe don't play kick and rush football, very few teams do.
It's about momentum and keeping possession. If there's not a forward pass on, you go sideways or back to open up space. That's football. It might not be to your liking, but that's the way the game has gone.
I didn't see that today, percentages say you don't try and hoof a 50 yard pass to koleosho who's screaming for it. Altho our CJ played some class long balls today.BleedingClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:20 pmWe don’t play forward balls even when one is on
Then forwards stop making runs
Then there is no forward ball on
So we justify passing sidewards and backwards
Self fulfilling prophecy
Very good pointCoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:27 pmI've noticed the boo boys haven't referenced 'xG' today, seeing as ours was 1.91; nice to use it as a stick to beat the manager with when it's convenient too, though, right?
Close to half of that would be the penalty. We still didn't create all that much.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:27 pmI've noticed the boo boys haven't referenced 'xG' today, seeing as ours was 1.91; nice to use it as a stick to beat the manager with when it's convenient too, though, right?
Pens are .75
Pretty sure a penalty is 0.79 of that 1.91 and that was in the 94th min.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:27 pmI've noticed the boo boys haven't referenced 'xG' today, seeing as ours was 1.91; nice to use it as a stick to beat the manager with when it's convenient too, though, right?
Penalties are worth 0.76 xG, so still 1.15 for against 0.64, which is a big enough differential to suggest that we created better chances throughout the game (0.5 xG and above is a significant differential).
Yes, I agree that we played better than we did against Plymouth, Swansea or Preston. Still very far from entertainment, though.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sun Nov 10, 2024 6:53 pmPenalties are worth 0.76 xG, so still 1.15 for against 0.64, which is a big enough differential to suggest that we created better chances throughout the game (0.5 xG and above is a significant differential).
CJER was the only player that played balls with urgency and speed besides maybe Laurent when he came on
