A lot of people clamouring for a striker. Would Gyokeres be good enough for us now? Seem to remember plenty of the football experts on here saying he wasn't good enough for us.....
Although some did see his potential.

You can see how we will have become an entitled fan base to other Championship clubs fans when we’re complaining about signing Shelvey.
I’m not convinced he’ll be as good as that but definitely a very solid signing who I think will play more than people expect.

Rumours/live gossip I am seeing is
Redmond to Brum
Traff to Newcastle though more likely summer
Shelvey at Gawthorpe and training prior to signing
Tella (not at training ground ) loan with obligation to purchase at 20mill
Delacroix turned down loan move
Steve to Spurs?
Brownhill to Hammers?
Any bit of truth in any of these and what others are being discussed?
Can’t see Brownhill going West Ham with potter there now is is technically nowhere near good enough for that.
Can’t see Steve going either me, 100% in the summer I think but given we are in an automatic spot I’d imagine we would hang on and get over the line.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
If SP is that desperate to sign him it’s not a great risk until the end of the season ,let’s face it we’ve been paying one sick note for 18 mths probably on a lot more than Shelvey who hasn’t any intention to go on the pitch.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 3:08 pmRumours Shelvey deal collapsed, something on his medical, don’t shoot the messenger just what my lad has been told in one of his group chats

Cant really afford too many "cheap free transfers" where fitness maybe a problem when the squad size is limited to 25 players over 21 on Jan 1st 2024.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Would be a shame if the Shelvey deal doesn’t happen.
Had a look at his stats earlier and he has played a heck of a lot of 90 minute games without being subbed. Last season played nearly a full season in the Turkish league before moving clubs. Season before was his only the bitty season, the one where he moved to Forest in January and fell out with Cooper. But played an awful lot for Newcastle before that for many seasons, 90 minute after 90 minute.
If he is fit, great, better range of passing than any current midfielder we have, if he fails a medical, I suppose that is one of those things.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I'm not sure where you are getting your information from about all his 90 minute appearances for Newcastle but it is not accurate. In his last 4 full seasons there he missed on average more than a third of the games each season which is a big chunk. My Newcastle friend said he was injured and disciplined a lot while there.CrosspoolClarets wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 4:55 pmWould be a shame if the Shelvey deal doesn’t happen.

In 21/22 he started 22 games in the Premier League and generally played 90 minutes, in 20/21 he started 29 games and again usually played the full game. That’s a good record in a side that even then rotated a lot. He had a few injuries but only muscular.
That’s a pretty demanding schedule only 3 years ago so I’d be confident he could do a dozen or so games in the Championship if he passes a medical.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Hard to say, there’s been some things that have seemed banged on he’s said and others that’s total rubbish, for example in the summer in his group chat he said they were offering Lampard the job but then yesterday when I posted around lunchtime that Shelvey was at the training ground that was in his group chat and it soon did the rounds on twitter afterTheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 6:54 pmIs your lad's group chat credible? I certainly wouldn't be repeating them.

CB doesn’t worry me even if Esteve goes. We seem to be blessed in that department.

I think some folk need to start a "Transfer window Facts" thread, saves them coming on this "Rumours" thread moaning about sources.TheFamilyCat wrote: ↑Fri Jan 10, 2025 7:25 pmSome people do have genuine sources. Years back, long before social media, I had two mates that worked at the club and got to find lots of stories before they were announced.
