January Transfer Window Rumours
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Not bothered about Whittaker, not what we needed IMO, looked lazy every time I've seen him.

I may be well off the mark, but all the posts that I've read about Tresor makes me think that he may have long covid or some other fatigueable illness, ME, myasthenia etc.

Or maybe, he just doesn't have the match fitness, attributes or possibly the commitment that the manager demands in order to be part of the squad.
For whatever reason he isn't featuring for the U21s to gain any match fitness. I think that says a lot in its self.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I haven't seen enough of Whittaker to make a sensible comment. The few times I've watched him live, he hasn't had a great game.
Having said that, he has a track record of scoring and seemed to have been chased by us so he must have talent.
If we'd signed him, I'd have been excited by it. Because we haven't, I'm not bothered. Strange state of affairs.

It's still a lot of interest from Burnley fans though?
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I'm not overly bothered about missing out on MW.
I don't think his general play is better than what we already have and our wide players work hard out of possession, which I'm not sure is a big part of his game.
He does however seem to possess that moment of quality, a little like Benson did in the championship for us. We seem to lack this at the moment.

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
I’m going to hold my hands up here and say I’ve watched Plymouth twice on tv this season. Even though 70% of games are on tv, 100% if you have a firestick, I cannot say I’m inclined to ever watch them play unless it is against the Clarets.
Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
Hopefully he has a good few moments of quality against Leeds, Sheff United and Sunderland.
Let’s also hope that we have some other irons in the fire. If the second bid is correct, it’s an area that Parker is wanting reinforcements.

Honestly posters obsessed with making comments about the lack of rumours all because the thread has digressed slightly.
It’s boring, every window the transfer window thread always becomes one big discussion about anything and everything

Re: January Transfer Window Rumours
They are growing their squad with a high number of Championship players-Choudray and Canon both far from Leicester's starting 11 in a poor Leicester team: Brereton Diaz-could not get a game for Saints, now talk of Oxlade Chamberlaine and Michael Keane too. All way off PL standard. Wilder will have a strong challenge in man-managing his squad and risks turning off players who got them to top of the Championship. Just my perception but Wilder does not strike me a one of the games man-managers/motivators.mybloodisclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 11:08 amCan't believe Hamza is only 27, thought he was closer to JJS.

They have. Hopefully our scouts go a bit more in depth when watching targets rather than having a piece of paper with ‘lazy’ and ‘not lazy’ on it after watching them on Sky on a few times.Ipreferaflan wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 9:16 amSeems quite a few people on here have watched Plymouth a lot over the last few seasons.

Whittaker looks more like a ball room dancer than a footballer. No way he would have fitted in ! Plymouth have had boro’s pants down. Good riddance.

What is being said about Whittaker at the moment in here is exactly what some of the same people were saying about Jaidon Anthony all season up until about a month ago!... Now everyone loves Anthony and he's currently one of the best-performing wingers in the Championshipby Bowclaret » Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:24 pm

We would be better buying a player like Alfie Doughty from Luton who has quality in the final third, able to defend and has Premier League experience whilst keeping Foster on the left up top.

By arguing your point about wanting it to just be transfer rumours is adding to the non rumours. Burnley news now gives you headlines of everything that gets put on here without having to come on here if the thread is that annoyingOldparkwood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:12 pmNot at all... Seville supporters mentioned we have inquired about loaning Kelechi Iheanacho - a lot of ex Leicester players seem to be unsettled.

Maybe start a thread on how annoying it is when a thread on the internet goes off at a tangent ?Oldparkwood wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:56 pmNow what is the point of that when this thread is meant to be for transfer window rumours....What do you suggest I should start a thread on?
I for one would contribute happily to that - though it would probably be with what I had for my breakfast and a random picture of a cat coughing up a fur ball.

What on earth has drawn you to watch Plymouth 6 times on the tv this season? There are indeed lots of games available to watch so, when there are other alternatives to watch at the same time, why have you CHOSEN to watch a team who are playing awful football and bottom of the league 6 times? I’m intrigued (or are you just saying this to make a point?).Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 12:40 pmNot particularly I think I’ve seen Plymouth play 6 times this season now just because there on tv.

I don't think the building blocks will be put into motion quite yet until it's assured we've got there. It's far more prudent exercising caution. The calibre of players identified & needed would be unlikely to move anyway on a chance unless it's guaranteed.Woodleyclaret wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 2:22 pmWe don't need a lump like Morris we are building a team for Premier league football next season.
