Stop the stupid VK pass side and back nonsense
Attack quickly with fast passes Shelvey style out to the wings.Shoot on sight ( not Cullen )
It's not rocket science pass and move not pass and stand still.
I'm suree VK can be blamed for a number of issues at BFC. But the atmosphere.... this season? That's a stretch.

I know that the Palace and Arsenal fans all meet up together outside the ground. I'm assuming under the culvert is still open to traffic pre-match ?

The human brain in many of us (not all) does not like constant repetitive noise. If we have a drum bashing out a constant beat it would drive some of us crazy and dramatically reduce attendances. 100% sure my 40 year visits will be over if we get one.

Just being very clear in case some halfwits get another bright idea to get one.

Anyway, I’m another one to say that Pep style tiki taka football isn’t going to create an atmosphere. Atmosphere comes when we don’t know what will happen. That style we do, 5 yard safe pass, 5 yard safe pass……repeat 20 times. There has to be tempo.

I was watching something the other day and it was to do with how the Liverpool atmosphere had dropped off despite them being top - the answer all the people came up with was that the football under Slot was slower. I think you've hit the nail on the head. People prefer chaos.

Sort the roofs out, out so that the poor souls in the James Hargreaves and Jimmy Mac lower tiers, and some rows of the top tiers of those two stands too, depending on the type of precipitation and wind direction, don't get ****** wet through all game

I’ve been to several Huddersfield games this season with a friend. I enjoy the day out and a couple of beers and stress free football. Except they have a drum. It is absolutely terrible and does nothing for the atmosphere (quite the opposite imo).

Any efforts to improve atmosphere other than it happening organically and spontaneously is doomed. Rightly or wrongly the reality is that the crowd is influenced by what happens on the pitch. I’m one who think SP and the players are doing well, and have no complaints that they have to do what they need to do to get us up. However football generally and BfC in particular is not doing itself any favours on the pitch at the moment from an atmosphere perspective.

Also agree entirely about the sobering prospect of the PL. Of course we simply must get there, but unfortunately it’s almost more of a ‘necessity’ than a mouth watering prospect.

Get after the opposition with some kind of urgency...aim simply to score more goals than them, rather than playing for a sequence of smash-and-grab 1-0s against clubs with a mere fraction of our resources.

Much of the first half last night was fine in both respects btw

Drop the (cack) music well before kick off..

I personally think the vocal content coming from the CFS is excellent most of the time, and is generally good brilliant from home. So a thumbs up for that. I know its a 'no,no but it's always been a personal gripe of mine that we don't have the whole CFS. I think it would go a long way to solving the problem.
I also think we should have a walk on song that's unique to us, but for goodness sake Alan take a listen to the Waterboys and 'Don't bang the drum. ;)

install a metronome in the cricket field. There is a reason the 'won the league at Ewood' song sounds impressive and people join in with it - it's not at breakneck speed. Tempo makes a huge difference on and off the pitch

Not just chaos but hard tackles, every time a hard challenge goes in the noise goes up several notches. Every time there's a scuffle the crowd gets up but unfortunately the powers that be want to rid the game of any of that which causes the players to pull out or hold off from hard tackles or altercations through fear of a red card(worse in the prem with VAR) but those types of moments get crowds going and create atmosphere.
The layout of the two bigger stands at Turf Moor are terrible tho and loses all noise, in the cricket field stand the noise sounds loud but if you sit elsewhere sometime you can't hear it as loud and vice versa from the CFS you can see the north lower with arms up singing but hear nothing

Not sure about this myself but what about playing to the CFS second half. Most, if not all, clubs play to their vocal section second half except us. I appreciate it is a split stand with aways in there also

I tend to think that football doesn't offer the level of excitement that the average crowd member expects these days.
Personally I blame TV.

A drum doesn't improve atmosphere. It just adds an incessantly annoying background noise. Numerous away games this season have proven that

Saving last minute penalties worked wonders for the atmosphere. Maybe we need to start conceding more of them.

Not for me, I wouldn't want the away side playing towards their own fans in the first half, although to be fair I'd have them getting wet through in the worst seats in the house if I could (Jimmy Mc Lower) I wouldn't take a free season ticket in there, its awful

Luckily the wind helped on Tuesday, in jhl, dread to think what it was like in jm stand though.

Have the whole of CFS and allow walk on tickets there.
Put the away fans elsewhere.

The main thing people can do to improve the atmosphere is to start joining in when chants/songs get going, not that hard really, although most don't seem to bother.

In a world where logistics and finances are not an issue, we would ideally shove the away fans in the corner of the Longside or JM lower and replace the CFS with new fully safe standing end, focussing our more vocal supporters there. Not currently feasible of course.

Been to a good few away games this season and I do think Turf Moor is poor and has been for a while - CFS included ….

But it’s better than everywhere else I have been this season

That might be becuase we’ve won every game I’ve been too but at least we get it going every now and again

I think being second in the league, smashing defensive records week in out, should be enough for the side to be well supported.

Nothing more fickle than a football fan.

I agree. We treat the away fans way too well, give em the best roof in the ground and the Cricket Club to drink in right next to the ground.
