Foster will never score, will he? Another sitter.
Just seen the replay. His weight is all wrong.

That looked a poor miss from Foster.

Point taken.CoolClaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:15 pmThe ball is bouncing off Flemming and bouncing around their box - his close control and ability to lead the line is precisely what we're missing today.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
We've been aching for Fozzy to get his pass and when he finally gets it he fluffs it. That's typical

Foster's so bad lately, remember when one or two people here thought he'd bag 20 this season?

Edwards for Foster, Anthony to the left, Brownhill for Laurent.

Oh Foster. Jasus.
Bad bad bad miss.
Feel sorry for Flemming getting bugger all chances and when he does, selfishly hands it over for naff all

Really poor miss
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Confidence. He needs one to go in off any part of his body.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Brings nothing to the forward play Foster - he's got to be replaced
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Best chance of creating on this shocker of a pitch.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Not for the time, Foster has shown he’s just not up to it.

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Last kick of the first half explains why no one wants to pass to Foster. Couldn’t hit the net if he was stood in front of it.

That's a poor effort from Fozzy. This ref is definition of a homer. Absolutely pathetic. Nobbers playing rugby like a **** redux of the Blunts.

I’d go with this, but we all know we don’t make changes at half time.jedi_master wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:18 pmEdwards for Foster, Anthony to the left, Brownhill for Laurent.

He’ll be the cheapest striker in the history of the Premier League though. Can we just accept Foster is crap.

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
There’s no defending that from foster. Awful.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
I'd be sticking Sarmiento on the left for Foster for the 2nd half, he might be not having a great season either but his pace and dribbling is far better than Foster's.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Played very well previous 2 league games. Once he has the ball on the ground (apart from that shot)Milltown1882 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:20 pmHe’ll be the cheapest striker in the history of the Premier League though. Can we just accept Foster is crap.

Preston very physical as expected. Pitch awful. Fleming and Foster dreadful.
Get Barnes on to hold it up front. Sarmiento for Foster. Brownhill for Laurent

You’re being generous there. A decent striker gobbles that up.Croydon Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:18 pmTo be fair to Foster the ball was slightly behind him

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
And that's why Foster is a 1 in 12 merchant. He is simply clueless in and around goal, he will never be anything of note in the goalscoring stakes unfortunately
Saying that though it's an acceptable performance so far, nothing more. We really are missing the zip in our passing so far today but that could be down to a pitch that looks in awful condition

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Foster is faster than Sarmiento. If Sarmiento came on it would have to be in the number 10 role.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Too many off their pace and skills today
Flemming showing why he is not a No 9
Anthony really poor with his final ball
Laurent gone missing most of half
And that miss from Foster
Thank God PNE look poor as well

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Hopefully not the turning point in the game.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Not a great half. Too slow on the whole, but the pitch is playing a part in that - it doesn't look the best! Foster has to score, no excuses for that. Keep it tight, and then make the changes to win the game in the last 20.

Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
To be unfair to Foster he had the space and time to set it and hit it. It’s a bad miss at the end of a poor half from him.Croydon Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 15, 2025 1:18 pmTo be fair to Foster the ball was slightly behind him
Not that he’s alone in that though. Lacking intensity throughout and all a bit compressed. Changes required, shame we can’t sub the pitch.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Well Foster eventually got his pass and new it big time- sad to see.
Re: The Super Clarets vs Preston Match Thread
Has Foster scored since Luton in the league?
With the players we have now in the squad, we can’t be making excuses for certain players anymore.
We’re getting towards crunch time, and if players aren’t up to it, they are out.
