SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
First glance, that was all nuts.
Second glance, off arm, but in natural position.

We are allowed a poor opening 20 mins, ya know!! Most games we've dominated. Would be happy to play crap but win. Let's see how it pans out. We usually dominate and it's not enough; we're on the back front and it's not enough. STFU for once people and see what happens. We can judge at the end of the game.

Have we started playing a back 8 or something?!
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Sheff Utd are playing crap and winning. They should have been battered by Pompy.

I think the experiment of Laurent playing right wing is going to be short lived.

Be lucky to finish 0-0 in this one. Really sloppy start, let's hope the game settles and we start to show some quality.
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Has had weeks in training. Ridiculous to suggest someone who's come in from a mickey mouse league at not even one of the big clubs comes in to replace a regular who's shown quality and worth.AmbleClaret wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:26 pmHasn't had a chance to prove anything, ridiculous comment.

I’m with you on this. Wednesday are playing out of their skin right now. It happens. We did it numerous times in the Premier League.dvalley69 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:27 pmWe are allowed a poor opening 20 mins, ya know!! Most games we've dominated. They’re up for it. We need to steady ourselves. Blimey, give them a chance!

If this proves to be the proverbial game of two halves,
we're laughing.
(Provided we don't concede.)

Wednesday look a decent team, but a disappointing start by us.

We need a national "lets hug Flemming day".
Afterall, every single oppo player gets to, why don't we?

Not sure why anyone would be expecting flemming to have a good game when we're getting battered
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Yet it's funny how people never said at the PNE game we should be 2 up in the 2nd half, and that was a crap performance... When it's the other team who should've scored it's fine yet when it's us we're crap and worst performance of the season. Talk about double standards!!
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Funny those who think Pires is better than Humphreys. My word.

In all seriousness, technical ability wise Edwards looks a level above.
Todays tactic seems to be get him the ball and hope something happens

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
I've said many times we need 4 across the middle, whether you play 3 at the back or drop a winger to facilitate it is debatable, but games like this where we seem to have no midfield are too common.

That's what post-match threads are for.dvalley69 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:27 pmWe are allowed a poor opening 20 mins, ya know!! Most games we've dominated. Would be happy to play crap but win. This is the match thread where people comment on the game in real time. If it's crap, posters will say so.
I hope the post-match threads are full of positivity, because it will mean we've eventually played well and won.

Even though he's not had a great deal of the ball, you can tell Edwards is a level above this league.

Why didn't he give a free kick then. It was just outside the box but he played advantage.

Wednesday are undoubtedly playing well, but our Plan A just isn't working. Still, Edwards has had a couple of touches that show real quality.

I'll be amazed if Brownhill isn't brought on for the start of the second half.

Nobody is suggesting he's a superstar,he has shown in his career to have some skills that appear to be lacking in tonight's performance so far, that's all.

Unsurprisingly, a midfield of Cullen and Laurent (and to a lesser extent Hannibal), is proving to be extremely dull.

Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
Laurent has shown many times he's a real asset, but none of the Midfield look good in this system.boatshed bill wrote: ↑Fri Feb 21, 2025 8:37 pmI doubt he's any where near fit enough to replace (even) Laurent.
Replace Pires with Brownhill and we'd see a completely different animal and Wednesday wouldn't have a look in.
If only.......
Re: SUPER CLARETS vs THE OWLS - Match Thread
How is that a foul by Hannibal? Nonsense, just like PNE penalty on Sat.

Laurent has to make way second half. We are sitting so deep. Not singling him out as most haven't had a good game, but we're not set up to attack. Again.
