Just to put things into perspective, Morecambe do not appear to have any U21s in their side today, they are all first team players and 7 of them were in their squad on Saturday against Walsall

That's a great test for the young lads. Better than what they've been getting recently in some very one sided games.

Yes, they are playing virtually a first team and they lead 2-0 which sees us go out

Is this a reserve team cup then rather than an U21s competition?

I think we should enter the lads in the EFL trophy thing.

We'd need to be category 1. Not sure that playing against the likes of Birmigham or Wrexham is going to be beneficial if we struggle against Morecambe's reserves.

We almost got in for the 2021/22 season but missed out by one place. You have to be Cat 1 and of those Cat 1 academies it is those clubs who finished highest in the first team leagues who get precendence.

Morecambe don't have a reserve team - that was virtually a first team we played today.

And would likely almost all U21 sides if that's the case
