I’m the only one on here but I saw a nailed on red card. The Baggie had played it forward, ball had gone, and he hacked at him.
Not disappointed mind I don’t want E-R & E-Steve broken up.

It was a trip, clear and simple. Yellow everyday. WBA players turned it into a frenzy. Ref overreacted. Appeals Panel saw it for what it was. Parker will not be banned.

Really? That's not a red card in any way shape or form - that's why it's been rescinded.

Really good news.

Can the ban be transferred to that utter clown of a referee instead?

Great news made my night. Like a lot on here thought it was a terrible decision but thought it may have been supported by the panel.

Great news. Lot of humble pie being eaten by the buffoons on here who stated it was a clear red and also a huge black mark for the ref. Hopefully he will never take control of another Burnley game We have had more than our share of him this season

You are not the only one.

Commentators said definite red

In real time I thought he retaliated and that is usually a red.

Really glad it’s been overturned but you can’t always see these things through claret tinted glasses.

Can you give a yellow after the final whistle?

I don't think I've ever seen it. A fair few reds over the years.
Apparently yes.

But it wasn't retaliation to anything, just a simple trip.

Common sense has prevailed .
The next step is for the referee to be stood down and recommended for further training, only to return to lower league officiating when seen as match ready by the FA.

Weird one that. I thought managers spoke to officials after virtually every game.

As for the ref, has he purposely been stood down this weekend?
He bloody well ahoukd be. It's a tough job and we are seriously short on good officials but this one was dreadful.

You may not like American Football, but the level of officiating is light years ahead of association football in England. Genuinely think we could learn a lot from that sport.
Well, if you ignore the rather similar big team bias, the inability to review penalties (which would mean that they would not have reviewed the cj foul), the "nothing the passer" calls that regularly benefit certain qb's and not others, the lack of consistency on pass interference, yes.
I'd say that their review process is much better run than our var, though.

Yeah I thought it was a red. Would just describe it as a kick rather than a hack... Nice bit of spin to say he was just trying to stop him getting through on goal. I don't believe that for a second. either way, happy it's not gonna count!

Got to be a big positive in the key games coming up. Of course every game from now on is a key game. Every game whatever the league position of the opposition !

CJ didn't get where he is today without getting bans rescinded.

It was very obviously retaliation for being barged for no reason.

Would be interesting to know if the referee's assessor on the night gave a truthful assessment of him or if it was more of a “boys club” assessment.

I know, I was just responding to someone who claimed it wasn’t retaliatory, which it obviously was.

Great news. But I was more incensed by his complete incompetence at the free kick from which WBA scored.

Commentators?? As if that makes absolutely any difference, when you have clowns like Don Goodman and Andy Hinchcliffe on Sky.

Commentators / summarises often have an agenda or a way in which they lean / support and that often comes through in their words. Leeds love in? They would have been begging for CJER to be arrested had that been against a Leeds player.

Never ever seen a red card. Ward is an incompetent moron, who happens to think it's all about him.

I think what helped CJ win the appeal was the lack of a full follow through. It was more like a Tommy Fleetwood 3/4 follow through.

Tbh he just legged him up. It was the reaction of the WBA players and resulting ruck that influenced the ref

He has to be charged first and then he will be given time to respond

Then a fine and Ban.

Might be less already, as he has apologised for not knowing the rule of approaching the ref at the final whistle

Has he already had a ban this season? Kompany had at least 1 each season from memory. I don’t remember Dyche having any.
