It may have been the club who welcomed the move and pushed it. We had plenty of cb’s, saved a wage and recouped some of the financial shortfall following relegation?
We’ll never know but I doubt we’ll be looking to re-sign him.

It’s in the The Athletic and it says we should be fine.Newcastleclaret93 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:28 pmInteresting article floating around on Twitter.

He was one of those who refused to be involved at Sunderland i believe. At least Amdouni for example went on the bench, he just wouldn’t be involved.Holtyclaret wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:28 pmIt may have been the club who welcomed the move and pushed it. I read somewhere that a capital injection can offset this or something. Didn’t really understand it, but did make me question whether we might see some investment this summer.
Doesn’t it say we will be fine as long as we post a 20m profit for the 24-25 season.
We know that as fact do we?
If there’s any truth whatsoever in this, we won’t be trying to re-sign him anyway. So we’re either not trying to sign him or he didn’t refuse to play.Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:11 pmI wouldn't go near him. I stared a thread several months ago about the evening with Mr Pace and Mr. Williams. Dara was one of the players who refused to play for us after the first couple of games and basically started throwing his weight about demanding a move away from the club.
He's burned his bridges in my opinion..
I hope they didn't miss a d off the last word
We’ve already signed four players.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:58 pm28 pages of a window already when it’s likely we won’t make any signings till either a couple of massive sales or 1st August to keep in the 20m profit mark for PSR purposes

Hmm, interesting. Naughty of them too. Hopefully their impending sales hurry up the payment to us.TsarBomba wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 8:53 pmThis has been translated and copied by a Brazilian X account with 1million followers-
Burnley FC, from England, sent a document to the CBF to notify (and complain) about a debt owed by SAF Botafogo in relation to the purchase of the defender Vitinho, who is already with FIFA. The English team is demanding a total of 7.5 million euros (around 48 million reais at the exchange rate of the day) from Alvinegro.
We had access to the document received by the Brazilian football entity. See below:
"We are writing on behalf of Burnley FC to inform them of a dispute with one of their clubs, SAF Botafogo.
Please find attached, for your information, a Proposal from the FIFA General Secretariat in response to Burnley FC's petition."
The CBF's response, on May 22 and signed by Director Enio Gualberto, was as follows:
"Dear sirs,
Thank you for the information provided. We confirm that Botafogo has been notified of the Proposal by the FIFA General Secretariat.
Please do not hesitate to contact us if you require further clarification."
We contacted Botafogo and, to date, have not received a response. If a response is sent, it will be posted here.
Burnley FC has been following the news about Botafogo in recent days, with player sales (Igor Jesus has already been confirmed at Nottingham Forest, and Jair and Cuiabano should follow the same path). Therefore, Burnley has once again demanded from the Rio de Janeiro team.
We don't need to do that123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:58 pm28 pages of a window already when it’s likely we won’t make any signings till either a couple of massive sales or 1st August to keep in the 20m profit mark for PSR purposes

Meant to say 1st July to but because we have already committed to those it’s unlikely without sales we have any movement to have incomings due to PSR.
We should have an irony klaxon on here.123EasyasBFC wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 9:14 pmMeant to say 1st July to but because we have already committed to those it’s unlikely without sales we have any movement to have incomings due to PSR.
The nearly 65m loss in tv money from being a championship saved by the 80m or so we have in player sales.
The main point was theres 28 pages and we actually haven’t had a credible serious link to a player yet other than alistair campbells son deciding he was ormstien
Do you think that includes the "4 obligation to buy players" which we have recently activated
Hope there’s a few people that are getting an enforced sit down for a week or two after tonightArthurNohair wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:05 pmJust nipped on the board to see if there’s any transfer rumours. Nice to see it’s as toxic as everis there still a thread for links only?
Wasn't it a tackle from Mee that fractured Gomez's leg that left Klopp moaning (a great tackle as well)Down_Rover wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:48 pmJust read a click bait article suggesting we could buy Joe Gomez.alongside Ben Mee would be fun.Ben could teach Gomez how to tackle properly

This is UTC after all.agreenwood wrote: ↑Thu Jun 05, 2025 7:26 amYou’d think an entire lifetime of seemingly watching transfer windows unfold would ward some people on here against flapping in June.
Seemingly not.
There will be some on here desperately hoping that’s not the case…
That rumour has been around for years.Djs254 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 07, 2025 8:20 amhttps://www.claretandhugh.info/west-ham ... idfielder/
Don’t know about the source just what saw.
This idea of negotiations “intensifying” is intriguing. What exactly happens?
Happen they get a bit narky and start talking louder.
Gomez a centre back? Rather have Longy!Down_Rover wrote: ↑Fri Jun 06, 2025 12:48 pmJust read a click bait article suggesting we could buy Joe Gomez.alongside Ben Mee would be fun.Ben could teach Gomez how to tackle properly
