Feel a bit for him.

Hes made some silly mistakes and now he’s being publicly humiliated. In the grand scheme of things he’s a minor football personality.

There’s plenty of folk who have held far greater positions of responsibility in this country and behaved worse who won’t have had a fraction of the treatment he’s had this week.

From PGMOL:

“Following the conclusion of a thorough investigation into David Coote’s conduct, his employment with PGMOL has been terminated today with immediate effect. David Coote’s actions were found to be in serious breach of the provisions of his employment contract, with his position deemed untenable.

“Supporting David Coote continues to be important to us and we remain committed to his welfare. David Coote has a right to appeal the decision to terminate his employment.”
Just seen this ...

I mean .... what will he do for a job now ?

I don't know but he's certainly educated me. Until Coote explained, I'd no idea what referees were using when they marked the ten yard line for a defensive wall with that white substance.

So sad that in this day and age people still hide who they are and what things may make them feel that they have to hide.

For me if what ever you feel or want to do is not hurting your self , others or depriving others, then live and let live.
I hope that they can find a role for him in football possibly in coaching refs and what not to do as well as what to do

Or the tabloids were going to 'out him' anyway or let him be involved in the story, like they have many times over the years.

Perhaps if he hadn’t been filmed snorting coke and boasting about erm “ drugs “ (sex) parties during the euros while being a Premier league ref , there may have been a little more sympathy for him . Bearing in mind he’s virtually using the excuse he’s gay for his woes.

While the red tops are odious in the extreme , when a public or high profile “ face “ is caught acting illegally or highly unprofessionally , there’s a fair argument for “ public interest “

Good for him for being public about his true self.

Still a crap ref who deserved to get sacked for what he did. Being closeted is no excuse.

Coote has today been charged by the FA for the comments he made about Klopp.

He has been charged in relation to rule E3.1, which alleges he acted in an improper manner and/or used abusive and/or insulting words. The reference to Klopp's nationality constituted an "aggravated" breach.

I await the FA’s retrospective fines for Klopp’s several counts of abuse towards officials.

I’ll be waiting a long time I reckon.
