Can’t wait for Alan Pace to use the Trafford money to pay brownhill a hefty contract to sign for Espanyol.

Re: Summer transfer window
Time for some quick financial stats. Taken from Transfermarkt so not entirely accurate but a good barometer of where we are:
So far this season, we are -71 million in the hole with our incomings (Tchaouna, Humphreys, Edwards, Anthony, Hartmann, Flemming, JBL, Weiss, but Trafford leaving brings us to -40m net spend.
You would hope/pray that there are going to be 5-10 other people leaving, such as Sambo, Sonne, Benson, Green, Ramsey, Churlinov, Tresor, Beyer, Delcroix, Ekdal, Obafemi, Agyei which would hopefully net us some further funds. To me, even if they don't, there's a bit more money to spend.
Since 22/23, including this, we have a net spend of (what I think is quite positively surprising) - 58 million, and as you can imagine it's the disastrous transfer policy of the season after that drives the loss.
However, I think there are now a number of saleable assets that we didn't necessarily have as many if when we came down under Dyche - Esteve, Humphreys, Edwards, Amdouni, Hartmann, Koleosho, JBL, Mejbri, and so on are all players that have the capability to go on and be sold for 15m plus, so not an actual realised loss of -58m.

Re: Summer transfer window
Why would Ramsey be leaving? As things stand, we need Ekdal. A loan for Beyer would be useful to see if he can actually play. Ditto Tresor. The rest need to be moved on either via initial loans or sold if we can.BigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:20 pmTime for some quick financial stats. Humphreys- 10m
Anthony - 8m
Edwards - 8m
Flemming- 7m
Weiss - 3m
Tchaouna - 12m
Hartman - 10m
Bruun Larsen - 3m
Total - 61m
Trafford (when it happens) - 31m
Massengo - 2m
Costelloe - 500k
Total - 33.5m
-27.5m net spend
Which doesn’t look bad at all and as you said with potential to still hopefully bring north of 10m in sales still in the likes of Hladky/green, sambo/sonne or both, Delcroix, Dodgson, benson, churlinov and obafemi

Re: Summer transfer window
We have Tressor,Obafemi ooc , Ramsay and Beyer all not ready to play yet never mind sell on
Re: Summer transfer window
Think it is widely accepted/a badly kept secret that Ramsey would be back at Villa already if not for the fact he hurt himself, we gave them a legup with PSR as some sort of favour.summitclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 1:38 pmWhy would Ramsey be leaving? In any case both of them have a long way to travel to even be considered squad options in my opinion. We might decide to cut our losses and rumours persist we're still looking for CB'S.

Re: Summer transfer window
Regarding Tresor I think we will find out where his future lies with the minutes he gets in the next two friendlies . And/or if he’s involved in the Stoke fixture or the behind closed doors game.
I don’t see Ramsey leaving us, but it seems clear that Benson, Churlinov, Obafemi and Dodgson are 4 that will almost certainly depart, hopefully all permanently.
You’d expect Delcroix and Sambo both to go however more chance of loans I think, with one of Green or Hladky to join the departure list.
Probably likely to see Banel, Agyei(if fit) Bauress and McDermott ll get loans too towards the end of the window .

Re: Summer transfer window
The big question is will one of Big Gaz's rumours materialise. I'm on your side BG
Re: Summer transfer window
They already have.
I said that they were trying to lump in a player with the Trafford deal to get the price down, that was most likely to be Ortega or Phillips, we know now it was Ortega, but that part fell through so we just took the cash.
Was told Brownhill wouldn't sign on and fancies abroad, which he will do unless someone here offers stupid money.
Was told Cajuste was more advanced than what is being reported and I've not heard anything to the contrary since.
So I think my guy isn't a busted flush just yet. Let's see!

Cajuste has not made a decision on his future yet it just says that the 2 clubs are close to a agreement best not to overreact just yet at least wait until we know what his decision is

Could just be ********, like. As could the story that we ever wanted Cajuste in the first place.
I’m not sure I’m ready to decide a player is a “chancer” or money grabber based on a couple of rumours.

And the season starts in 2.5 weeks… the two priority positions have not been strengthened and we are losing our best players from last season. The Prem is already a seemingly impossible task, let alone not having the squad in place in time for the actual season. It’s hardly surprising it’s a bit frustrating to fans.warksclaret wrote: ↑Tue Jul 29, 2025 5:40 pmA few on here need to chill out the window is shut 1 September which is over a month away.

It’s the same panic every season. Every manager would love to have their squad in place for the first game.
