Crazy if that is a pen.

Only thing I know is, if that is us attacking, we don’t get it.

That looked like it hit his arm where the shirt is. I thought it wasn't hand ball then.

Tarkowski handball sucks. It was top of his arm and his hand was behind his back. F ucking refs and var.

He never moved his arm towards the ball. 100 percent we’d never get that penalty

Short arms fails to get there, where a longer arm would have done.

You can't say Leeds haven't deserved it after the first half performance. It's ok, they have Arsenal away next.

Typical DL homer decision. From behind the goal his lower arm is fully behind his back and his upper arm is tight to his side. He can’t do any more.

I don't really want either of these teams to win but I still have a soft spot for Tarks. That seems harsh. I'd quite like Everton to get an equaliser now

Exactly and he was moving his chest to make the block. Absolute crap - no matter who is playing, that is not right.

It also deflected so no way he could have reacted to get out of the way.

Well, if he doesn't lean towards the ball to block it, it doesn't hit his arm. So in that sense his arm could be somewhere else. This isn't a case of the ball hitting a player who can't get out of the way.

Leeds have defended well, but if you’re an Everton fan, you’re a bit worried about how toothless you’ve looked tonight. They’ve barely troubled Leeds.

Alright then, ball's only flying at him at about 60mph. He's brought his arms as close to his body as possible and tried to block the ball. It's b*ll*cks.

The refs are doing what they are told to. It is big for sky and the media if Leeds win. They won’t shut up about it. Refs are told who to favour and it is clear they were told to favour leeds. Next week they will be told to favour everton as it makes a good story if they win their first game at their new stadium. Football is not a sport anymore at the top level, it is entertainment.
Think of wrestling. That is what football is now at the top level.

I’d love to know whether it’s my imagination, but Leeds have always seemed to me to score far more late goals than most. I don’t mean over the last few seasons, but the last few decades.

Everton’s lack of full backs has really cost them tonight, they have had the ball in some really good positions but had no full backs overlapping.

Leeds have a habit despite their energy of becoming “Leeds 0” against a good defence, like against us last season.

I don’t count iffy pens where the biased VAR back up their buddies in the ref’s union.

So the key is defence. Hopefully ours is better. Everton will survive on that this season.

Think we’d all be happy if Burnley turned in the performance Leeds did there. I think if we’d had played Everton first game, it would be far more cagey with us showing them too much respect.

You are right but you do wonder if the big clubs benefit from the calls I can remember marc cucurella doing the exact same thing as Marc ghuei against Bournemouth & that goal stood. I don't think people have problems with the rules being applied correctly but you have to apply the rules correctly for everybody without selecting.

Refereeing is shambolic at all levels of the game. It makes it worse when they’ve got VAR. it’s borderline embarrassing.

Noticed Kitching or Kitchen or whatever he’s called was the 4th official - he’s another woeful ref

No getting away from it, that's a nightmare start for us though. Long way to go....

Penalty.

A handball offence only occurs if the player deliberately moves their hand/arm towards the ball or if the arm’s position makes the body unnaturally bigger in that situation

Tarks leant to his left to make deliberate contact with the ball.

I hope I’m wrong, and I’m sure someone will hurl insults my way for this, but I seriously worry about what will happen to us this season. Leeds and Sunderland look to have signed more quality whilst we’ve got around 40 players who are all on a similar level - not quite good enough for the league we’re in. The atmospheres at both grounds are far beyond what our fans create at the Turf.

As I said, I pray I’m wrong.
